Ride Botswana with David Foot Safaris The Kalahari, the Okavango, the Makgadikgadi. This is a land of true wilderness.

Botswana is a land overflowing with places that evoke the wild spirit of Africa. It is a land where the wildlife still roams freely over vast distances. And it is a land still home to the original inhabitants of the continent – the San Bushmen. We, David and Robyn Foot, invite you to join us on safari and share our passion for its wildlife, its pristine wilderness and its ancient people. Our first

love is to explore the remote areas of the country on horseback. We have three of our own exclusive rides – the Okavango Delta Ride, the Makgadikgadi Pans Ride and the Thamalakane River Ride, and are happy to organise a horse safari through the islands and waterways of the Okavango Delta or the starkly beautiful Kalahari. Our safaris are guided by David who has over 25 years of experience leading safaris throughout southern and central Africa. And if horses are not your thing, then he is just as happy to show you the country by vehicle or more especially on an adventurous foot safari or an adrenalin packed canoe safari along the Selinda Spillway.

🌟It was incredibly exciting to come across 140+ wattled cranes together on our most recent mobile safari! With only 8000 left in the world they are highly endangered.

David passed the sighting details onto , a explorer who is studying them and he was equally as excited and immediately went to find them to try and place GPS trackers on one or two birds.

We will keep you posted on his findings!🌟

An exciting python sighting on a recent safari! 🐍

These snakes are non-venomous and kill their prey by constricting it.

Pythons in Botswana are protected by law. They are considered a vulnerable species.

A colorful welcome on our Okavango Delta Mobile Ride for the crew! 🌈🌅🐴

We have just had a fantastic week at our stables where we have been hosting a level 1 and 3 natural horsemanship clinic 🐎 himself has been out with us in Botswana sharing his incredible knowledge with the Ride Botswana team. Now it’s time for them to enjoy 5 nights on our Okavango Delta Mobile Ride! ⛺️✨🐘

🌟 CAMP KALAHARI 🌟

This romantic setting is situated on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in the Kalahari.

We have a barn of 14 horses permanently stabled here and offer 3 night horseback safaris out of Camp Kalahari.

This place touches your soul in way that we can’t explain. There’s something incredibly ethereal about riding in this lunar landscape 🌕✨

During the rains, the second largest Zebra and wildebeest migration in Africa passes through the area feeding in the open grasslands on the edge of the salt pans. The pans fill up with water and become a feeding ground for flamingoes too! 🦩 🦓

During the dry season, the pans dry out and become the largest racetrack in the world! 🐎 The ground is perfect for long canters and fast gallops 😍🙌🏼
