Botswana is a land overflowing with places that evoke the wild spirit of Africa. It is a land where the wildlife still roams freely over vast distances. And it is a land still home to the original inhabitants of the continent – the San Bushmen. We, David and Robyn Foot, invite you to join us on safari and share our passion for its wildlife, its pristine wilderness and its ancient people. Our first

love is to explore the remote areas of the country on horseback. We have three of our own exclusive rides – the Okavango Delta Ride, the Makgadikgadi Pans Ride and the Thamalakane River Ride, and are happy to organise a horse safari through the islands and waterways of the Okavango Delta or the starkly beautiful Kalahari. Our safaris are guided by David who has over 25 years of experience leading safaris throughout southern and central Africa. And if horses are not your thing, then he is just as happy to show you the country by vehicle or more especially on an adventurous foot safari or an adrenalin packed canoe safari along the Selinda Spillway.

Pedro was one of the greatest safari horses we’ve ever had. He galloped across the vast Makgadikgadi, swam the channels of the Okavango, and stood his ground against lions and elephants alike.

Bought as an internet bargain 15 years ago for just Rand 3000 😀, his safari career may have had a slightly shaky start - especially after throwing David off twice - but from then on he became an absolute legend. Brave, kind-hearted, full of character, and loved deeply by everyone who rode him.

We are heartbroken to have had to say goodbye to him, but so incredibly grateful for all the adventures, memories, and joy he gave us over the years.

From the Delta to Gaborone - and just getting started.

As part of our Further Education Programme, we select and sponsor students each year from the villages that fall under the Okavango Kopano Mokoro Community Trust, offering them the opportunity to study at and in South Africa.

In 2025, Godwin joined us from Daunara Village. By the time he graduated, he had not only made his mark - he was awarded the Resilience Award, with more than one department hoping to claim him.

As shared by Chef Petru Alberts at SACT:
“Godwin was incredibly eager to learn, always stepping forward to help and consistently going above and beyond. He brought an infectious positivity into the kitchen and never arrived without a smile. We have no doubt his future is a bright one.”

Today, his journey continues.

Through a valued partnership with Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Godwin has begun a 6-month placement at the Hilton Garden Inn Gaborone, gaining hands-on experience and further honing his craft.

This next chapter has been made possible with the generous support of .stenner.safari who are funding his accommodation in Gaborone - something we are incredibly grateful for.
