Some of our guests wrote a children's book about their safari experience in Botswana with Kalahari Breeze in 2024.

It is called GJ The Earth Explorer - Lost in Botswana by Carole Foot and Liz Hickson
and tells the story of a curious Australian Chocolate Labrador puppy who wanders away from his human and becomes lost in our country filled with animal and human characters of varying levels of helpfulness.

On Saturday we had a staff meeting where we gathered a last time as a team before the safari season starts.

18 people received their first aid certification. A reason to celebrate together.

We also got extra uniforms to add a new shirt style to the repertoire.

Now we are ready and our busy season is starting this week.

We are looking forward to welcoming you on our tours.

Back To Botswana Safari Season 2025
Bootcamp

The last day of our training camp was an extension to the first aid certification course that we started the previous day.

This day was dedictated to traumatic injuries.
We learned how to dress wounds, bandage broken bones in various locations, how to handle burns as well as eye injuries for example after an attack by a spitting cobra. We also learned how to immobilize a patient with spine injury and how to safely transport an injured person.
Furthermore, we learned how to assist the paramedics and doctors when they come to help us.

At the end of the day the whole team passed the course and was certified in first aid.

Back To Botswana Safari Season 2025
Bootcamp

The last two days of our Training Camp were dedicated to First Aid.

The whole team got trained and certified by CardioLife Botswana, a medical training institute specialized in First Aid training for Safari lodges and companies.

The first day started with an extensive theoretical teaching session, where we learned about all sorts of medical emergency situations and the usual first aid as well as bush-specific emergencies such as snake and spider bites.

The afternoon was dedicated to pratical training in cardiovascular resuscitation (CPR), where we all could show and practise our ABCs.

A very informative and important day, that did its best to prepare ourselves for those situations that we hope will never occur on any tour.

Back to Botswana Safari Season 2025
Bootcamp

During the 5 days that we camped together at Sexaxa Camp as a team we shared lots of happy moments together.

There was lots of time for swimming, dancing, singing and chatting. The sessions and breaks where filled with laughter and joking.

These times of team building and getting to know each others better are so important.
As soon as the safari season starts and we spend so much time at work, we are the only family that we have out there in the bush and we need to know that we can rely on each other and have each others back.

The aardwolf is a special sighting on safari.
This insectivorous carnicore resembles a small striped hyena.
The shy, mainly nocturnal aardwolf lives on the arid plains of Africa. 
Its name means "earth-wolf" in Afrikaans and Dutch. It is also called the maanhaar-jackal (Afrikaans for "mane-jackal"), termite-eating hyena and civet hyena, based on its habit of secreting substances from its a**l gland, a characteristic shared with the African civet.
