Throwback Thursday ✨

This is a picture from one of my favorite vacations to Mexico. When I was 16 my mom booked about 50 people from Airdrie all to one resort. I got to spend two weeks with my best friends and we even got our own room. Although we were definitely monitored as there were also boys at the resort.😜

I came back more tanned than ever and had the time of my life with my best friends. Sometimes it doesn't matter where you are at all, its all about the people you are with!♥️

On Canada Day I thought I would share a great Canadian destination. We traveled to Vancouver Island a couple of years back and did some exploring over to Tofino, down to Ucluelet, through Port Alberni and back to Nanaimo, Courtney, Comox and Campbell River. While in the Courtney area we were told about Nymph Falls and how our friends hung out there as teenagers. What a fantastic way to spend the day, lazing around on the warm rocks and wading in the river. So relaxing and exciting to find a place that probably you would never hear about unless you know some locals. Would definitely go back there some day.

Hi, I’m Shivon, but most importantly - I am the mom of two girls. Two amazingly smart, sassy little girls that rule my world.

Weslyn (I’m four now!) Mattea is the princess ballerina of the house, already has plans for her future marriage and challenges me daily, but using the things I say against me. She used ‘debate-able’ against me last week.

Collins Autrie is our feisty little warrior woman that knows how to fight when she’s mad, get into messes all over the house and now she repeats ALL THE WORDS. In the last week alone we have heard Nash, door, Chase, Skye, pouch, cheese and the word more.

What are you favourite things about your kids??

I'm so lucky to have grown up with a mom with a passion for travel. I have enjoyed a lot of places without me even really knowing much about them, thanks to her. ✨

One place in particular is Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We booked a family vacation there back in 2014, it was the first family trip with significant others for us, more than just the five of us. It was also our first cold destination. Usually in the winter we were the family to be on a beach for sure, you can't just tell by the year long tans my parents have. Also it was the last vacation I had without kids (TAKE ME BACK). 😜

The town of Jackson Hole is amazing, it was snowy and there was so many cool shops and restaurants, we even had Christmas dinner at a restaurant. It was weird, but there was so many people doing the same thing. And pictured above, the amazing ski hill, the first day we snowboarded the sky opened up and it was gorgeous. 🏔

Back in 2011 when I was travelling in Asia, we were in the last country of the tour, Vietnam. ✨

They had some fresh fruit stalls all throughout where I was staying and I remember getting a HUGE plum from one of the vendors. It's weird because the whole trip I'd been eating tons of fruit off the side of the road, but mostly mangoes, lots and lots of mangoes. 🥭

But this one plum, as soon as I took one bite, I felt like I was at home. It tasted like home. Its crazy how I still remember it to this day. After 25 days of travelling without my family, and honestly probably was the longest period of time i've had away from my parents, all it took was one little fruit to make me feel like I was home again. 🏠

Good Morning!

My mom and I took some ‘branding’ photos of each other this weekend. I tried to pose nicely, but man I am an awkward human being. So here’s the cutest of the bunch, showing off the dress I bought back in February when I was planning on going back to the office. Just ripped the tags off this morning.

Been spending most of my days learning about destinations, all while in my sweats with the kids climbing all over me with their peanut butter finger prints. I’m missing being able to wear dresses everyday without being a mess. I’ll leave you with my Monday Mantra -
