Ministry of Natural Resources has started netting for the "Broad Scale Monitoring" fisheries project in the Sudbury Area. The project will last between August 11 to August 16.

Keep your eyes peeled for Yellow and Orange buoys when you fish the back bays and shallows of the French River Delta.

These nets are used to collect biological data about abundance, age structure, mortality, and maturity of the fish species in our river system.

The French River is located within Northeastern Ontario just 3.5 hours north or Toronto, 1.5 hours north of Parry Sound and 45 minutes south of Sudbury and Killarney, Ontario

French River Resorts Association Members are wide spread on the French River over 80 miles of picturesque, awe-inspiring wilderness. The best way to describe the river is a series of island dotted lakes connected by rapids and falls that gently lower the river a total of 60 feet from Lake Nipissing to Georgian Bay. The French River is divided by rapids and falls into 3 sections. Each section of the French River is navigable by canoe or kayak. Boat traffic is retained within each section.
