Had a GREAT night with the Jamaican Tourism Board, whom I LOVE!
They are a fantastic resource and support for us to better serve our clients!
Jamaica is open for business and better than ever after the storm! Many resorts were damaged and this gave them the opportunity to revamp, reinvent, upgrade and are welcoming tourists with open arms.
We got LOTS of one on one time with the reps at some of our favorite resorts which is incredibly valuable! Learned of some new resorts opening up (namely Unico, Beaches, and Sandals *special shout out coming*), and some new to us excursion suppliers whom we are excited to work with!
*Special, shout out to Sandals Resorts . After the storm, many resorts were severely damaged, and many workers would have been out of a job while the resorts picked up the pieces. But at Sandals, the workers had the option of being sent to other resorts in the Caribbean so they could continue to work, with paid flights and accommodations, and those who stayed in Jamaica with their families were paid their full salaries until they got back to work and are still being paid until the resorts open back up in the coming months. This is an incredible act and speaks volumes about the commitment to its people. Sandals stood by its team, demonstrating what it means to be an employer that truly cares. I am proud to support them!
