June is when cruise lines release their best promotions of the year — and through Fora I’ve got direct access to exclusive deals across every major cruise line. Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, Viking, MSC, and the luxury and expedition lines too.

These are promotions you won’t find on the cruise line’s website or any booking engine. Cabin perks, onboard credit, included drink packages, reduced deposits — the specifics vary by line.

A few things worth knowing if you’re cruise-curious from Atlantic Canada:

• Caribbean cruises sail from Florida — one-stop flight from YHZ
• Mediterranean cruise bookings are up 250% this year and spring 2027 inventory is strong
• River cruises are 36% ahead of last year — underrated and worth a serious look
• Shorter sailings (3-4 nights) are perfect for first-time cruisers

Right now I’m pricing a Caribbean sailing for a group client looking at Carnival for next year. The exclusive sale pricing through Fora is stacking onboard credit and cabin perks on top of an already strong base price — the kind of thing that simply isn’t available booking direct.

I’ll match the ship, itinerary, and cabin to how you actually travel. The right cruise for you isn’t the cheapest one or the fanciest one — it’s the one that fits.

Comment CRUISE and I’ll DM you the deals I’m seeing that fit your dates and budget. These June promotions move fast.

Barcelona to Rome. August 3 to 10. Aboard EXPLORA III, the newest ship from Explora Journeys.

This is not a mainstream cruise. Explora is ultra-luxury Mediterranean sailing with an all-suite concept, onboard wine bars, and a 3,014 sq ft Owner's Residence designed by Patricia Urquiola. It is built for travellers who want the ocean without the crowds.

August availability is still open, but suites on a ship this size do not last. If the Mediterranean has been on your list, this is one of the best ways to experience it.

Have you ever considered a luxury cruise over a resort trip?

What's actually included in an all-inclusive — and what isn't.

Most travellers find out at the worst possible time. At the resort.

In your package: flights from Halifax or Moncton, round-trip transfers, 7 nights, meals at most restaurants, standard drinks, entertainment, pool and beach access, and taxes built into the price.

Extra at the resort: specialty restaurants, premium liquor, spa, excursions, motorized water sports, and wifi at some properties.

Not included at all: travel insurance, airport tips, souvenirs, local tipping currency, and pre/post hotel stays if your connections require them.

Budget an extra $200–500 per person. Most travellers underbudget and feel it at the resort.

Every quote I send breaks this down before you book. That's part of the service — not an upsell.

River cruising is a completely different way to see Europe, and the Seine is one of the best places to start.

Avalon Waterways runs Paris to Normandy itineraries that combine history, wine country, and French villages you would never find on your own. Small ship, guided excursions included, and you unpack once. No airports, no hotel hopping, no figuring out trains.

Late 2026 sailings still have availability, and 2027 is open for anyone who wants to plan ahead. I can pull itineraries and pricing based on what works for your schedule.

Would you rather explore Europe by river or by road?

Sicily. Ancient ruins with Mount Etna in the background. Turquoise harbours lined with fishing boats. Food that makes you rethink everything you thought you knew about Italian cooking.

Globus builds guided tours that actually do this island justice. The logistics are handled, the stops are curated, and you are not spending half your trip figuring out where to go next.

There is still availability for summer 2026 if you are ready to move quickly, and 2027 departures are already open for anyone who wants to plan ahead and lock in pricing early. Either way, I can walk you through what makes sense.

Have you been to Sicily, or is it still on the list?

DEAL OF THE DAY — Banff, two ways.

Something different from my desk today: not a sun deal, but the domestic trip I'm getting asked about most — Banff and the Canadian Rockies, from Halifax.

Two ways to do it, both round-trip from YHZ (flights + room, per person):

• THE VALUE PICK — Hidden Ridge Resort, Banff Aug 13–18, 2026 · 5 nights · from $2,814 pp A one-bedroom loft condo, walkable to town, lakes by day trip.

• THE SPLURGE — Fairmont Banff Springs Sep 6–11, 2026 · 5 nights · from $3,439 pp The castle in the Rockies — September brings fewer crowds, larch season, and a lower price than August.

Fly YHZ → Calgary, rent a car, and you're in Banff in about 90 minutes. Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, world-class dining, and trails for every level.

These are room-only starting points — I add the rental car, transfers and meals, and build the day-by-day itinerary around what you actually want to do.

DM me ROCKIES or visit travelbybraeden.com and I'll price your exact dates. No booking fees, ever.

Silversea. The Arctic. Greenland. This is not your typical cruise.

Ultra-luxury expedition sailing to the world's largest island. Fewer than 300 guests, every excursion included, and destinations most travellers will never see. If you have done the beach trip and want something that changes your perspective, this is the conversation to start.

What is one destination on your bucket list that most people would never guess?

Hurricane season officially starts today and runs through November 30.

Every year around now I get the same question: "Should I still book the Caribbean?" My answer is yes — as long as you get travel insurance.

Here's why it matters more than people think. Provincial health plans cover almost nothing once you leave Canada. A single hospital stay in the Caribbean without coverage can run anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000. A cancelled flight or a missed connection without insurance is simply money lost.

This is why I recommend travel insurance for every trip I plan. Through my Allianz partnership, coverage can include emergency medical care abroad, trip cancellation, travel delays, and lost luggage. (For transparency: my Allianz link below is an affiliate link, and I only recommend coverage I'd buy for my own family.)

The best advisors don't just book the fun parts of a trip. They protect the whole thing.
