Armstrong Regional Co-op members and customers pumped up the community.

On September 15, 10¢ from every litre of gasoline and diesel purchased at all Armstrong Regional Co-op Gas Bars was donated to a local organization as part of Co-op Fuel Good Day.

Thanks to your support: $12,727 to the Special Olympics Vernon $4,593 to the Eagle Valley Rescue Society $2,318 to the Armstrong 1st Scouts Group $1,661 to the Cranbrook & Kimberley Hospice Society

"The Armstrong Regional Co-op is proud to give back and get behind local initiatives that are working to address the needs of our community," said Jason Keis, Marketing & Community Relations Manager with the Armstrong Regional Co-op. "Thank you to our members and customers for the support you've shown during Co-op Fuel Good Day. Once again, it's amazing to see what we can accomplish when we all work together."

Fuel Good Day was celebrated at Co-op Gas Bars across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and northwestern Ontario, with each local co-op supporting a community organization. The Western Canada total will be released in early October at www.fuel.crs.

The Armstrong Regional Cooperative has served its members for over 100 years and today serves more than 45,000 members across the Okanagan, Shuswap and Kootenays.

🗳️The Chamber is hosting the 2026 Municipal Election All Candidates Forums this month. Candidates will talk about their priorities, take questions from the room, and share where they stand on the issues facing Armstrong and Spallumcheen.

Wednesday, September 23 - City of Armstrong Council Candidates Centennial Theatre. Doors at 5:30, forum from 6:00 to 8 :30.

Tuesday, September 29 - City of Armstrong Mayoral Candidates Odd Fellows Hall. Doors at 6:30, forum from 7:00 to 9 :30.

Wednesday, September 30 - Township of Spallumcheen All Candidates Centennial Theatre. Doors at 5:30, forum from 6:00 to 8: 30.

Everyone is welcome. There is no cost and no registration, so come to one or come to all three.

Whether you are still deciding how to vote, running a business and wondering where the community is headed, or you just want to put faces to the names on the ballot, these evenings are worth your time.

Hi everybody, it's Chamber Chat time again. 🎃 I'll admit it feels a little weird showing you pumpkins when it's 25 degrees out, but here we are, summer's wrapping up.

A quick heads up on hours. Starting October 1st we're open 10 till 3. You can always reach us by phone or email, and some mornings I'm in early, but if you're knocking before ten, you'd better have a tea in your hand. ☕ Donna and Rhonda are still off enjoying the last of summer and they'll be back in a week or two.

Harvest Pumpkin Fest is coming and we're still waiting on scarecrow entries from our businesses. I've heard there are some good ones already (Carl the Cash Crab, anyone?). If you're a business or organization and haven't entered yet, come see me and I'll get you set up. 🌾

In case you hadn't noticed, there's an election on. We've got three All Candidates Forums coming up. All 16 council candidates for the City of Armstrong, the four mayoral candidates, and the Township of Spallumcheen mayor and council. Want the details? Head to aschamber.com, where we've also just added a brand new page with every candidate's bio and links to their pages. 🗳️

We're still seeing loads of visitors too. This month alone we've had folks from Scotland, Wales, Germany, the Maritimes, and what feels like all of Ontario. 🌍 They're here right through Thanksgiving, so keep those smiles on!

Last one. A big shout out to the Village Dairy. 🧀 AJ, Hannah, and the team hosted a fantastic Business After Business last night. Cheese, tacos, and your choice of coffee or ice cream (the coffee crunch was the clear favourite). They also made a big announcement about something new coming, and let's just say it might involve a still. 👀 Go talk to AJ, it's exciting for the whole community.

It was a great evening of networking, conversation and connections, along with some delicious food and wonderful hospitality.

We were also pleased to be among the first to hear about some exciting future plans for Village Dairy that will continue to make it a must-visit destination for a local farm-to-table experience. 🌾🧀

WOW Wednesday 🎭

is hosting O-Zone 2027!

What is O-Zone, you ask? O-Zone stands for the Okanagan Zone Festival — an annual community theatre festival celebrating the incredible performing arts community throughout the Okanagan.

O-Zone will feature a week-long lineup of amazing plays, with participating theatre groups competing for the opportunity to advance to the Mainstage Festival. The week wraps up with a special awards ceremony celebrating the performers, directors, technicians, and volunteers who make community theatre possible.

O-Zone 2027 will be held in May 2027 right here in Armstrong at Asparagus Community Theatre.

But before we get to O-Zone, ACT has plenty happening this fall that you won't want to miss.

Call for 2026 Municipal Election Candidate Information

The Chamber is inviting all Armstrong and Spallumcheen 2026 municipal election candidates to submit a short profile for publication on the Chamber website.

The same opportunity and format are available to all candidates.

The Chamber is using the official candidate information posted by the City of Armstrong, the Township of Spallumcheen, and CivicInfo BC to help identify declared candidates. Candidates should still send their own information directly if they would like a profile published.

What to submit:

Candidates are asked to provide:

A short biography, up to 150 words
A candidate photo
Contact information and/or a campaign website
The office and community they are running for
To keep the information fair, accessible, and consistent, longer submissions may be shortened for length and all profiles will be formatted in a similar style.
