Discovery Helicopters is happy to be able to support the hard working team at Atlin Search and Rescue!

Atlin SAR got called out twice this weekend!

Around 7:30 pm Friday, Atlin SAR was activated by the RCMP to respond to a call regarding a missing elderly person with dementia.
By 8 pm the ground search team was on the go. After activating a Helicopter to assist with the search, the elderly person was found safe and in good health around 10 pm, and the team returned to base.

While back at base, Atlin SAR was again activated by RCMP as a second task was received - This time a inreach activation alerted RCMP of a missing hiker in the Haines Pass area.
Due to darkness the SAR response had to be postponed until the following morning - At 5 am Atlin SAR took off in a helicopter. By 10:30 am the subject was found, and reported back as fine.
