June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the diverse histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples across Canada.🇨🇦
The lands known today as Banff National Park are a place of breathtaking natural beauty, deep history, and vibrant cultural heritage. Indigenous Peoples have lived, travelled, gathered, and shared knowledge here since time immemorial, and continue to shape and enrich this place today.⛰️
Here in Banff and Lake Louise, we encourage visitors and our community to take time to learn, listen, and reflect.
From medicine walks and e-bike tours with Indigenous guides, to Indigenous arts and crafts, museum visits, and cultural events, there are many meaningful ways to engage with Indigenous cultures, stories, and perspectives throughout the month and beyond.
