Do you have a passion for fishing, boating, and adventure tourism? Are you ready to share your love for the outdoors with others while working in one of the most beautiful areas in Ontario? If so, Stillwater Fishing is looking for you to join our team as a Fishing & Tour Guide/Assistant for the 2025 season!

Located in the stunning McGregor Bay on Birch Island, Ontario, this role offers a unique opportunity to engage with guests through fishing charters, scenic boat tours, and providing support for Among the Trees.

✨ What You’ll Be Doing:
🔹 Fishing Guide Responsibilities:
- Lead half-day, full-day fishing charters
- Guide clients in catching a variety of species including Musky, Pike, Bass, Lake Trout, and Salmon
- Maintain boats and fishing gear, ensuring everything is in top condition before and after each charter
- Ensure all fishing charters are in compliance with Ontario Fishing Regulations and safety standards

🔹 Tour Guide Responsibilities:
- Lead guided hiking, paddling, and scenic boat tours, from half-day to sunset cruises 🌅
- Customize itineraries based on weather, guest preferences, and group dynamics
- Ensure the safety of all guests, including being prepared for emergency situations

🔹 Among the Trees Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist with changeovers for rental domes (hauling water jugs & propane tanks)
- Refill propane tanks at the marina as needed
Chop firewood for the sauna and help with general ground maintenance 🪓

✨ What We’re Looking For:
- Must be 21+ years old
- Boating license and experience with boating operations
- Valid fishing license
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Previous experience as a fishing guide or tour guide is an asset
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work long days, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical strength to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

A dreamy way to end my harvest season! All year long I look forward to spending my fall in the bush. Although a big rack is nice, it’s not what it’s about for me. I take pride in only eating wild game and living off the land. Stalking this giant for miles through the deep snow and closing the gap to 15 yards is a memory I won’t soon forget. Now it’s time to get the nursery ready and patiently wait until I get to pass on this knowledge.

The Authentic Northern Experience

Born and raised just steps from the waters surrounding Manitoulin Island. I grew up spending all my days exploring the wilderness, and waterways of Georgian Bay and the surrounding area. My family and I often spent our time outdoors, teaching me the ways of the Bay. From the time I could walk, was when I first picked up a fishing rod, and I have never looked back. Over the years I have spent my summers fishing, kayaking, hiking, and exploring all there is to offer in this gorgeous part of Northern Ontario. While in the winter, you might find me putting down the rod to rest, while strapping on a snowboard and backcountry touring throughout the interior of British Columbia. Yet, every summer I return to where I call home to another great season of fishing and adventure. A few years ago, I thought about how I can turn my passion into a career, and advance my education of fishing and the wilderness. Which is what led me to attend the College of the Rockies in Golden BC, where I enrolled in Adventure Business and Tourism. Throughout my time in College, I not only advanced my skills in hiking, kayaking, and fishing, but I also gained certifications in a variety of areas to enhance my knowledge for my business. Now that I am done school, I have a vision and passion to share my home with everyone. I look forward to guiding you through the crystal clear waterways of the Bay, to picturesque remote locations that will leave your breathless and blowing your mind with some of the best fishing!
