Our stay at Hotel Canoe and Suites in Banff National Park, Alberta was nothing short of amazing. This newer hotel is located right on the main strip in downtown Banff, yet at the quieter end so you can enjoy peace while still being within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and bars.

One of the main reasons I wanted to stay here was the rooftop pool with breathtaking views of the mountains. There are two levels of pools connected by a waterfall, plus a beautiful pergola with a fire pit in the middle, perfect for cozy evenings by the fire while surrounded by Banff’s scenery.

The customer service was excellent. At check-in, you’re asked about your coffee and tea preferences, and they provide a personalized selection in your room which was a thoughtful touch that made the stay feel even more special.

When I experienced Secrets Playa Blanca last year, I immediately fell in love with the resort.

When I first started as a travel agent, I had no idea what I was doing, I came from a legal background so travel was a whole new world. I worked in a retail office for a while but when I went out on my own and began to build Travel Agent without Borders - I made mistakes, wasted time on the wrong things, and often felt like I was spinning my wheels and just trying to figure it out as I went. I spent years learning everything I could—what actually works, what doesn’t, and how to build a business that gives me freedom and success.

And honestly? I wish I had more tools and guidance in the beginning to propel my business so much faster.

I have also noticed a rise in misleading information about being a travel agent—leaving out the hard work it actually takes to build a successful business and be able to work from anywhere.

That’s why we are launching a new instagram —a space just for travel agents (or those thinking about becoming one).
