We are grateful for today and the opportunity to support GREAT in developing essential communication and leadership skills. Their impressive creations from natural materials and clear ability to collaborate were truly inspiring. It is deeply gratifying to know that such a dedicated group is providing critical support to prepare our community for various work sectors. As a former GREAT client, I can personally attest that I would not be where I am today without their invaluable assistance.

Thank you Chef David of Devour food.co for preparing an incredible lunch for our participants. As always you never cease to amaze with your love of food and cooking.

🌳 What a beautiful day for team building. We have the pleasure of facilitating a day of skill development and communication strengthening through shelter building and lashing techniques with GREAT. It has been an amazing day with such a vital organization to the community of Six Nations. We are proud to support and develop the services within our community in the spirit our ancestors used to build our traditional societies. Big Thanks to Kayanase fornthe use of there facilities for this event. This is the truest form of community in action.

S’hagoweheh Myers brings over 25 years of experience in forestry and ecological restoration, guided by a lifelong respect for the natural world. Early in his career, he studied in Syracuse, New York, where he had the opportunity to work as a summer student with the acclaimed environmental scholar Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer—an experience that helped shape his land-centred approach to stewardship.
For more than a decade, S’hagoweheh has worked with Hydro One as an Electrical Forestry professional, blending technical expertise with environmental responsibility. His enduring love for the outdoors and deep practical knowledge of the land eventually led him to 7G Explorations, where land-based learning and outdoor training continue to strengthen his commitment to environmental education, restoration, and caring for future generations.

🌿 Kerdo Deer (Kanentaké:ron) is an Ecological Team Lead and land-based educator from the Mohawk Nation, Bear Clan. With a 15-year career in ecological restoration and six years in the Indigenous tourism sector, Kerdo merges professional environmental science with the traditional teachings he was raised with at Six Nations. From managing invasive species to leading land-based learning expeditions, he is dedicated to the stewardship of the land and the reclamation of Indigenous land-based practices. 🌳

Josh Sherry is a passionate naturalist and outdoorsman who owns 7G Explorations. A graduate of Fanshawe College's Adventure Expedition and Interpretive Leadership program, Josh founded 7G Explorations in 2024. His mission is to foster healthy and respectful connections between people and nature while creating educational and employment opportunities within Indigenous communities. Since its inception, 7G Explorations has already supported the construction of the new Longhouse at Kayanase and developed four new eco-tourism packages in partnership with Six Nations Tourism. Josh looks forward to continuing to develop unique and specialized programming to connect people with our beautiful planet.

Owner Josh Sherry, who is Haudenosaunee, carries these teachings not only into his work, but into his life as a father to Anishinaabe sons.

These values are more than principles; they are lived, practiced, and shared through every experience we offer.

They guide how we show up for our community, how we care for the land, and how we walk alongside one another with intention, respect, and connection. 🌿
