Go behind the scenes at one of southern Alberta’s most important pieces of infrastructure during Alberta Open Farm Days! 💧🌾

Join the Eastern Irrigation District for a guided tour of the historic Bassano Dam and discover how water from the Bow River has supported agriculture across the region for more than 110 years.

Tour highlights include:
💧 Walk under the Bow River
🌊 Cross the main spillway for an up-close look at the gates, hoists, and friction wall
🚜 Explore the Emergency Spillway and learn how irrigation transformed southern Alberta into productive farmland

📅 Tour Times:
• Saturday, August 15 – 10:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m.
• Sunday, August 16 – 10:00 a.m.

🎟️ Free to attend, but pre-registration is required. Spots are limited—call the Eastern Irrigation District Office at 403-362-1400 to reserve your place before Wednesday, August 12 at 5:00 p.m.
