Thank you Government of Canada for leaving 1000's of Limousines and Tour buses out of the "Travel and Tourism Grant" again.Absolutely nothing to help us again. Unreal .I sent messages off to at least 5 members of parliament and received basically no explanation or help ,i was just told that limousine service was not shut down through the pandemic ,so we get nothing.Imagine the reaction if i had been travelling all over ontario during a pandemic ,taking passengers from one county to the next risking everybody in my 16 passenger limo and everybody in the other counties that i would travel to. So basically we were open in the governments eyes even though people cant go anywhere unless its essential ,and im sure that nobody rented a 16 passenger limo/bus to go somewhere essential since there werent any more than approx 5 people allowed in a group to go anywhere.I have had so many bookings and then cancellations that i cant keep track. Our vehicles have depreciated at least 30% as nobody is going to buy a limo they cant use.We pay huge money for insurance ,we have to have our vehicles certified every 6 months at double the rate of a regular car safety,licence plate stickers are approx 250$ a year per vehicle, we have to have a CVOR updated and paid for every year, we have to renew our bus drivers licences and get a physical ,and i havent even touched on maintenance and oh ya did anyone notice that our fuel has gone up at least 30% in the last 6 months. Anyway just wanted to say THANKS for nothing Government of Canada.Dont forget when all of these limousine/tour businesses go under ,you wont be able to squeeze any more fees and taxes from us. Its pretty close to being pretty much over for the limousine tour industry.
