Romi the leopard’s large cub feasting on an impala that its mother had killed and carried into a tree, to try to secure it safely out of reach of the lions and hyenas. Romi’s territory is a beautiful stretch of riverine forest bordering the Mara River at the edge of Musiara Marsh in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Seeing a leopard is a highlight of any safari, as these beautiful big cats are generally secretive, remaining hidden in the thickets and forests, with their coat of spots and rosettes providing perfect camouflage among the dappled sunlight and shadows.
