Nobody tells you about the smell of Antarctica. 🐧😂

Or how loud the penguins are, how much penguin p**p there is, or how completely chaotic these little tuxedo-wearing characters can be.

The photos show you the icebergs. The videos show you the wildlife. But nothing quite prepares you for what it’s actually like to be there.

And then, somewhere between the ice floating past your ship and a whale’s tail disappearing beneath the water, something happens.

You stop thinking about your to-do list. The emails. The deadlines. All the little things that felt so important back home.

And you remember why you wanted to see the world in the first place.

Because life is happening out there. And some experiences remind you just how extraordinary it is to be alive. 🤍

🚨 STOP using AI as your travel agent. Here’s why.

On a recent cruise, someone told us a story about a traveller whose AI knew her favourite drink and recommended a hotel specifically because that drink was on the happy-hour menu.

And honestly? That’s impressive.

But it also made me wonder: how much personal information are we sharing with AI, and do we really understand what happens to it?

Your travel plans can reveal a lot about your life, your budget, your habits, and the people you travel with. Privacy policies and settings matter.

And there’s another thing to remember: AI can make mistakes. Hotel details change. Recommendations can be outdated. And a beautifully written itinerary doesn’t mean every detail has been verified.

I’m not saying never use AI. It’s a useful tool for brainstorming destinations and getting ideas.

But when it comes to booking your next big adventure, you deserve more than an answer that sounds convincing.

You deserve real travel knowledge, attention to detail, and someone who can help you navigate the unexpected.

Sometimes it is a partner. Usually it is a friend. The one who always says oh my god yes we should
absolutely do that.
And she means it. She is not lying to you. She has also got a mortgage and a kid and a job she cannot
leave in March.
So the trip sits there. Not cancelled. Just permanently pending somebody else’s calendar.
I understand why. Going alone sounds like the worst part of the whole idea. But here is what nobody
tells you: you are alone for roughly the first ninety minutes, and then you are somewhere full of
people who also came by themselves.
And the version of this you can test tomorrow does not cost four thousand dollars.
It is dinner. By yourself. Somewhere new. That is the entire experiment.
If you can do dinner, you can do a country. I am not being cute. It is the same skill and it just scales.
Whose yes are you waiting on? You do not have to name them. Just tell me how long it has been.

Welcome to San Francisco. 🌉🌫️

One of the best cities in the world… but I’m definitely biased. 😉

The city by the bay, where you can spot Alcatraz from the waterfront, catch those ridiculous Golden Gate views at sunset, and then watch Karl the Fog casually roll in and change the entire vibe.

Every corner feels like a different adventure. And somehow, after all these years, I still can’t get enough of it.

San Francisco, you’ve still got me. ❤️
