Planning a trip to Lake Louise this summer? Before you load up the car, here's what you need to know about parking.

The lakeshore lot costs $42 — for any length of stay. And it's regularly full by 6 or 7am. If you were counting on parking at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, that's only available if you're a hotel guest, or if you have a dining or high tea reservation and availability allows. That'll run you $45.

Travelling in an RV or oversized vehicle? You won't be parking at the lake at all — there's an overflow area 1.5 km down the hill with around 50 spots.
