Planning a solo cruise can be daunting, but it doesn't have to be.

What you may not know about me is that am very much an introvert. I'll be honest, I have some nerves about heading off on a 7 night cruise alone. That's why I came up with these plans to enjoy activities I knew I would love, put myself in situations where I can be as sociable (or not) as I want, but at the same time keep my days free enough that I have plenty of "me" time.

Why do I say this? I've heard from solo clients in the past they were worried to use a travel agent because they thought we wouldn't understand how they feel. I work with my clients to put together a thoughtful plan that makes them feel truly comfortable.... my goal is for you to have the most amazing trip of your life, whether you are solo, a couple, a family, or a group.

Disney Cruise Line are teasing us with some coordinates ahead of a big announcement tomorrow. Let's look at these coordinates in more depth!

40° 46.3′ N = New York City, New York
18° 27′ N = Puerto Rico
29° 18.2 N = Galveston, Texas
32° 43.3′ N = San Diego, California
26° 5.4′ N = Fort Lauderdale, Florida
28° 24′ N = Port Canaveral, Florida

Currently Disney Cruise Line have all of these as port hubs apart from New York City! With the announcement of new ships coming soon, this could mean an exciting new time for Disney Cruise Line.

Also, eagle eyed people may notice some constellations which represent an Apple (Big Apple/New York), the country of Panama, and a palm tree.

At some point, I realized I was waiting.

Not waiting to travel—I’ve been fortunate to experience some incredible places. I was waiting for someone else’s schedule, interests and circumstances to align with mine.

But Alaska is somewhere I’ve wanted to experience, and I no longer believe meaningful adventures should depend on whether somebody else can come with me.

So, on September 3, I’ll board the Disney Magic for a seven-night Alaskan cruise—solo.

This isn’t a story about having nobody to travel with. It’s about making an intentional choice not to keep postponing the experiences that matter to me.

As a travel advisor, I’m also looking forward to experiencing solo cruising firsthand—not simply knowing what’s offered, but understanding how the dining, activities, excursions and quieter moments actually feel when you’re travelling alone.

I’ll be sharing an honest look at the entire experience as I go.

What are the benefits of traveling solo?

This September, I'll embark on a Disney Cruise Line 7-night Alaskan adventure aboard the Disney Magic.

While I'm excited, I'm of course a little apprehensive. If you are not already, follow me so you don't miss any updates and find out the common questions such as: How does dining work if you are solo? Can I still meet characters? What if I don't make any new friends?
