Ready to Dust Off Your Board?
Winter’s melting away, and that means paddle season is almost here!

Here are 10 tips to help you transition smoothly (and safely) from snow to SUP:

• Inspect your gear – Check for cracks, leaks, or damage after winter storage.
• Give it a clean – Wash & dry your board, paddle, leash, and gear.
• Dress for the water, not the weather – Spring water is cold! Wetsuit or drysuit recommended.
• Rebuild your balance – Core workouts, yoga, and stretching can do wonders.
• Start slow – Ease into the season with short paddles on calm water.
• Check your safety gear – PFD, whistle, phone case… all must-haves.
• Plan for the cold – Bring a towel, change of clothes, and know your exit points.
• Know the conditions – Ice, high water, or fast currents? Always check before you go.
• Refresh your skills – Practice falling in and getting back on your board.
• Reconnect with your paddle crew – Community = motivation, safety & good vibes.
