Thursday thought....
Why does our industry pay so much attention to the BIG host agencies?
I've been in travel for 19 years, and one thing I've learned is that size and impact are not the same thing.
The biggest host may have the largest sales volume, the most advisors, and the biggest conference presence. That's impressive.
But, truthfully, those metrics don't tell us whether advisors are building profitable, sustainable businesses.
When I started Tisson, I wasn't trying to build the biggest host agency. I wanted to build one where advisors were known, supported, challenged, and encouraged to think like business owners.
Sales are important. But so are profitability, client retention, work-life balance, and having someone to call when things go sideways.
The travel industry often celebrates scale because it's easy to measure. What is harder to measure is mentorship, connection, trust, and genuine investment in people's success.
Maybe the question isn't who is the biggest.
Maybe it's who is making the biggest difference.
