Classic Canadian Tours 🐻‍❄️ 1-day Canadian Wildlife Adventures, since 2005
✈️ Polar bears, grizzlies & more
📍Departures from major Canadian cities

To inspire Canadians and visitors to our county to take in remote regions of Canada we charter aircraft and fly directly to these regions from major gateway cities. For example, our signature tour over the past decade has been our same day Polar Bear Safari direct from Calgary, Edmonton or Saskatoon to Churchill, Manitoba. The regions of Canada offer stunning landscapes, magnificent wildlife and e

xtreme seasons. Classic Canadian Tours make it easy to discover and explore out of the way corners of Canada. We would like to have you on board one of our expeditions.

Polar bears don't wait for winter. They wait for ice, the specific moment Hudson Bay freezes solid enough to hunt from. Arctic Sea Ice Day exists to mark how essential that ice is, and Churchill each autumn is where you can watch bears count on it arriving.

Happy International Sea Ice Day!

Canada holds some of the last great wild spaces on earth.

Places where polar bears still roam the tundra as they always have, moving toward the coast as the seasons turn. Where the boreal forest stretches further than you can see and the silence is so complete it takes a moment to adjust to it. Where Hudson Bay meets the land at the edge of the world and the ice returns every winter, right on cue, as it has for thousands of years.

These places still exist. That is worth celebrating.

Happy Canada Day. 🍁🐻‍❄️

The longest day of the year. ☀️

While you're soaking up every last hour of sunshine today, the polar bears of Churchill are doing the same, roaming the tundra, unhurried, perfectly at home in one of Canada's most remote corners.

Happy Summer Solstice. Enjoy every minute of the light.

Did you know polar bears are classified as marine mammals?

Just like whales and seals, they depend on the ocean to survive, spending months on the sea ice of Hudson Bay, hunting ringed seals and building the energy reserves that carry them through the year. When the ice melts each summer, they retreat to the tundra and wait. Patient. Unhurried. Perfectly adapted to one of the harshest environments on earth.

Churchill, Manitoba sits right at that edge, where the boreal forest meets the bay, and where this ancient seasonal rhythm still plays out exactly as it always has.

On World Oceans Day, it's worth remembering that the health of our oceans reaches further than we think. All the way to the tundra. All the way to the bears. 🌊🐻‍❄️

Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears are two of Canada’s most iconic mammals, but what happens when they meet in the wild and mix?

Occasionally, they hybridise, creating a rare bear known as a Grolar bear, or Pizzly.

These remarkable bears have been documented in Canada’s North, where the ranges of Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears overlap.

Learn more about these fascinating hybrids in our latest blog post: https://www.classiccanadiantours.com/blog/grolar-bears
