When the City comes back, you know you’re doing something right. 🚲🍁

The City of Calgary rolled through our Stephen Avenue shop again this week, picking up Toonie Tours bikes for their annual public art ride. Their own guide, our wheels, and a whole lot of downtown art the maps don’t show.

They come back every year, and this year’s crew had so much fun that they’re riding today and tomorrow. Thanks for trusting us with the ride, City of Calgary. See you next year. 🙌

Toronto Island’s on-site bike rentals have wrapped up for the season. Ours haven’t.

Rent a bike from us and take it straight onto the ferry, the Island’s still open, the paths are quieter now that the crowds have thinned, and the ferries to Hanlan’s Point and Ward’s Island run right through winter.

Just note: dress for the weather once it turns, and an off-peak ride is your easiest bet for getting a bike on board.

A morning on our Ottawa walking tour looks like this.

We start at the National War Memorial unveiled by King George VI in 1939, and home since 2000 to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, holding the remains of an unidentified Canadian soldier from the First World War. It’s the one stop where the whole group goes quiet, sentry included.

From there, the city opens up: Château Laurier in the background, a street artist mid-portrait in the market, and a group of strangers who, an hour in, are just people walking a city together.
