Winnipeg to Kenora via #1 Trans-Canada

This stretch of highway between Winnipeg and Kenora crosses over the massive Winnipeg Floodway east of the city, the eastern extent of the Prairies, the German-Mennonite community of Steinbach. At Whiteshell Provincial Park it crosses into the Canadian Shield at the Ontario-Manitoba Border. From here, prairies lie west to the Rockies, and Canadian Shield lies east to the Ottawa River valley. The highway continues east, snakes around the northern shore of Lake of the Woods, into Kenora.
