Whether you're heading into the backcountry for the first time or looking to build on the knowledge you already have, our December programs with IFMGA Mountain and Avalanche Canada certified instructor Christian Schlumpf are a great way to start the season strong.

Learn the essentials of avalanche safety and backcountry travel.

🎿 AST 2 | December 11–14
Build on your existing knowledge with more advanced avalanche assessment, route finding, and decision-making.

🎿 Guided Backcountry Days
Put your skills into practice while exploring more complex terrain with a fully certified ACMG / IFMGA ski guide. These objective-based outings have a strong educational component woven throughout the day, helping you develop your mountain travel, avalanche assessment, route finding, and ski mountaineering skills.

One of the unexpected highlights of skiing in Japan? Konbini culture! 🇯🇵🍙

While they may look familiar at first, Japanese konbini (convenience stores) are quite different from the typical North American 7-Eleven. These shops, which you can find on every street corner, are packed with an incredible variety of fresh meals, snacks, sweets, drinks, and grab-and-go options.

For our guests, exploring the konbini is ALMOST as much fun as exploring the mountains. From onigiri and egg sandos to plenty of yummy snacks, there’s no shortage of options to fuel your big day of powder skiing. ❄️🎿
