Hey guys, I just got back from Punta Cana. In the Dominican Republican. Did you know that Punta means to Island or Island and that Cana means Cana leafs.
I learned that on a tour. I stayed for one week all inclusive with my mom at the Sirens cocotal resort. I recommend going with transat as we flew with them direct flights. We stayed in the tropical side building L 202 we could see a sliver of the ocean but had a great view of the court yard. Very quite. Very clean.
We did three excursion monkey land which you get to feed squirll monkeys. They are free and will jump on you clime all over you. They are also picky eaters they take what they want and leave the rest. If you go do not put on sunscren or have a cold as they are very protective on the little guys. Monkeys can get sick from humans and die quickly.
We also did swimming with the nurse sharks and stingrays. I highly recommend this tour. After snorkeling the boat turns into a party boat. You cruse around all the drinks are free and after a bit they stop at a sand bar you can get off and party and drink in the water. Dont worry you can stand.
Last tour we did was the jungle safari. It lasted 8 hours so dont plan anything after it. We saw anmials, saw how ci**rs are made. Had some lunch had some drinks and saw the real Dominican before going to see how coffee is made. Very good coffee by the way. Lots of shopping too.
All in all it was a blast. The reps are there everyday until 6-7pm you can book all your excursion right there. Recommend that as its all confirmed then and there. I do not recommend booking ahead of time. Lots of stress there.
The bartenders always got to you they would lock eyes nod and come to you after they finished helping a customer.
Food was AMAZING they had themes so it was never the same food twice. Except for breakfast but most people are sleeping till noon.
Service was above and beyond. Yes most everyone spoke Spanish but the people working with the public spoke English and French. Keep your map. It saved us lots of hassle.
Drinks were beyond yummy. I went down the list and came up with two favs. Singapore sling. Loaded with booze but very very yummy. And Banana Rama with rum. You have to ask for rum or they give it to you plane.
The resort was clean. I mean no dust very little dirt. (Sand gets everywhere) they are always cleaning. They also collect coconuts that fall and give them to you to drink. Very yummy. Dust dont drink to much or you'll spend a few hours in the bathroom cleaning house.
I also give one last bit of advice. Book your restaurants asap as they fill up fast.
All in all I would go again in a heart beat. It was so much fun. If you want to go shoot me a message and I'll get some prices for you.
