River Ranche Tourism

River Ranche Tourism Oki, my passion is to share our stories through outdoor immersion activities and showcasing community

The River Ranche Lodge is set on the Siksika Nation Reserve and overlooks the beautiful Bow River. The Lodge itself is nestled within one of the largest intact cottonwood riverine ecosystems in Western Canada. Blackfoot historical sites are abundant throughout the Reserve. The surrounding environment and history are stunning, all within a one hour drive from Calgary. In the past River Ranche speci

alized in both cultural and fly fishing adventures. We now offer an expanded selection of activities including kayaking and cross country skiing packages. The lodge is the perfect setup for birding groups, corporate events, family reunions, scrap-booking activities, or just as a getaway for an individual or small group. Give us a call and we will help you organize a package that fits your needs. If you are looking for a cultural adventure, River Ranche provides guests with a unique opportunity to stay at our Blackfoot teepee camp where you may interact with First Nation’s elders, and tour the Siksika Reserve and surrounding area. Our elders will share Blackfoot history and culture around the campfire and show you the wagon trails and buffalo wallows of the past while enjoying the natural surroundings of the present.

A Message from the RiverRanche Family ❤️

To our friends, clients, supporters, and everyone who has been a part of RiverRanche Cultural Activities & Tourism,

It is with a heavy heart that we share that our founder, Dion Red Gun, has passed away. His loss has been deeply felt by our family, and we are still taking time to grieve and adjust to life without him.

At this time, our family’s main focus is caring for my mom and making sure she receives the care and support she needs. Because of everything our family is going through, I have not been able to personally contact everyone or respond to messages as I normally would. I sincerely apologize if we have not been in touch.

For the time being, RiverRanche will be taking a pause. We will not be operating as usual this year, but this is not goodbye.

I hope that, when the time is right, RiverRanche can return again-perhaps next year or the year after-and continue the work my dad was so passionate about. His love for our culture, our land, our stories, and sharing those teachings with others is something we hope to honour and carry forward. 👣

Thank you to everyone who has supported my dad, believed in RiverRanche, visited us, shared our posts, and encouraged his work over the years.

Please be patient and understanding with our family during this difficult time. ❤️

RiverRanche will return when the time is right.

With gratitude and love,
