Lake Nipissing Outfitters started with a dream. Through hard work, sacrifice, and the support of so many loyal customers, that dream grew into a family-run business that created memories we will cherish forever.

From early mornings in the parking lot before sunrise to the stories shared on the ice, the people we met along the way became the most rewarding part of the journey.

After a great deal of thought, we have decided to sell the winter ice hut portion of Lake Nipissing Outfitters to our friends and neighbors at South River Resort.

South River Resort has been welcoming visitors to the Nipissing region for close to 20 years and has earned a reputation for outstanding hospitality and customer service. We are confident our customers will continue to be well looked after, and we would like to congratulate Mary and Steve on this exciting expansion of their winter operations.

This has been the hardest decision of my career. Letting go of something we built from the ground up is not easy, but for personal health reasons, it is the right decision for our family.

While we are stepping away from the overnight ice fishing business, Lake Nipissing Outfitters is not going anywhere. Over the years, we listened carefully to our customers and heard the same message time and time again — they wanted more ways to experience the Nipissing region. Those requests have become the foundation of our next chapter and the core of our expansion. We will continue growing our year-round boat rentals and tours, ATV rentals and tours, snowmobile rentals and tours, guided fishing charters, water taxi services, camping and fishing gear rentals, and outdoor experiences throughout the Lake Nipissing and French River region.

To everyone who supported us over the years, thank you. Thank you for your trust, your loyalty, and for allowing us to be part of your Lake Nipissing memories and helping us build a dream into reality.

Respectfully,

Alan Juselius

Today I had the opportunity to spend time with members of the Nipissing First Nation community during Canadian Coast Guard-led Basic Observation of Marine Hazards training. I want to sincerely thank the people who welcomed me and shared their knowledge, perspective, and commitment to protecting the waters we all call home.

Protecting Lake Nipissing is not about politics or choosing sides. The lake does not care whether environmental damage comes from commercial pollution, residential pollution, failing septic systems, shoreline misuse, or unregulated activity. The lake only reflects the damage left behind.

Unregulated transportation services continue to operate on this Class 2 inland waterway without proper oversight, licensing, insurance, and accountability.

There are also concerns surrounding over-capacity short-term rental properties operating along the shoreline of Lake Nipissing, placing increased strain on shoreline-based septic systems and infrastructure never designed for that level of continuous use.

Winter activity is also changing rapidly. Ice camping and overnight recreational use continue to grow in popularity, bringing increased pressure, garbage, debris, and waste onto the lake every season.

Protecting Lake Nipissing requires everyone to do their part residents, visitors, operators, and municipalities alike. Some municipalities choose to step in and help protect the lake. Others continue to turn a blind eye to concerns that directly impact the long-term health of this waterway.

Thank you again to the people of Nipissing First Nation for the warm welcome today and for continuing to demonstrate stewardship, awareness, and respect for one of the most important waterways we have.

Respectfully
