Harbour seals are the smallest and most common type of seal, with over 105,000 harbour seals off the coast of BC alone. They eat about 3 to 5 kg of fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and squid per day! Right now, some harbour seals are gathering in the Campbell River, attracted by the pink salmon running upriver. Come to the Campbell River Estuary to see the seals today!

Last night, we had a sunset paddle with some guests from California. It was a pleasure to introduce them and their young kids to the beauty of Campbell River and the estuary.

They saw eagles, seals, fish, deer and advanced their skills of being great river stewards! 🦭 🦅 🐟 🦌

When we connect people to their environments, their is a greater desire to care for it.
