Ron, Ashley and family visiting us from Alberta had one heck of a day on the water! Lots of smiles, lots of action and a pretty impressive haul to show for it!

Another great day in the Salmon Capital of the World! šŸŽ£

Kevin and family joined us for some fantastic Campbell River salmon fishing, with Jamie taking bragging rights for the biggest fish of the day ā€” a beautiful 29 lb salmon!

Our Nautilus Reels got put to work, and what a day they had. šŸ’ŖšŸŽ£

šŸŽ£ What a day on the water!

Incredible fishing today with our guests and good friends, Mike & Wanda Vandendorpel visiting us from the Chilliwack area! Lots of fish, lots of laughs, and just an all-around great day. šŸŸā˜€ļø

These two also occasionally help make ours and our girlsā€™ sturgeon fishing dreams come true when we head their way ā€” and we canā€™t thank them enough for that. Itā€™s always such a treat getting out on the river with you guys! ā¤ļø

We love that our friendship gets to include a little fishing on both sides. Whether itā€™s our waters or yours, weā€™re already looking forward to the next adventure ā€” hopefully very soon!

Talk about being in the right place at an unforgettable moment! šŸ‹šŸ‹

These two humpback whales surfaced right beside our boat ! We had no idea the whales were there until they appearedā€”and once it was safe to move, Calvin immediately gave them plenty of space.

An absolutely breathtaking encounter and a powerful reminder that when weā€™re on the ocean, weā€™re visitors in their home.

From ocean to tableā€”itā€™s hard to beat a day like this. šŸ¦€šŸ¦šŸŒ½

Fresh local Dungeness crab and spot prawns we caught ourselves, paired with garden potatoes, sweet local corn, garlic butter, sausage, and all the fixings for the perfect crab boil.

One of the best parts of living and fishing on the West Coast is being able to enjoy the incredible seafood these waters provide. After an unforgettable day on the water, thereā€™s no better way to wrap it up than gathering around the table with family and friends.

Salmon in the boat, lingcod on the deck, kids with huge smiles, and memories thatā€™ll last a lifetime. It was a pleasure spending the day with this fantastic family as they experienced everything that makes fishing in Campbell River so special.

Someone ahead of us must have released a rock cod, and we were lucky enough to witness nature take over.

This incredible bald eagle swooped down, skimmed the surface of the ocean, and grabbed the fish for its unforgettable lunch. šŸ¦…

Moments like this are just another reminder that a day on the water is about so much more than fishing. You never know what amazing wildlife encounter is waiting around the next corner.
