Mark has been fishing since the age of 3. His grandmother told him one day that he couldn’t fish, because he didn’t have a fishing pole. He went to the basement and returned with a bent nail on a piece of string. That’s when she realized that fishing was part of Mark’s soul. Mark has literally made fish part of his life. He has worked with the top sushi Masters in North America, and also works at
the Quinsam fish hatchery in Elk Bay, where he helps to manage the Campbell River fish population. Other guides and guests will confirm that Mark has a special ability that has to be seen to be believed. He is respected across British Columbia as a top professional, but also as the type of person who would do anything to make sure you are happy. Mark has over 20 years as a fishing guide in British Columbia’s famed Discovery Passage, and spends his time guiding from Campbell River, and also on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, out of Gold River.
