Fun Fact Friday! Did you know that ravens mate for life? 🖤💍 These beautiful black birds are not only clever and playful, but once they find their match, they stick together through thick and thin! You’ll often see them flying in pairs, working together to build nests and they even play games mid-air. Ravens aren't the only ones either - bald eagles, osprey and Canada Geese also mate for life!

🌲✨ Grassi Lakes Hike✨🌲
Looking for a hike that delivers great views with minimal effort? The Grassi Lakes Trail in Canmore is it! A short drive or bus ride from downtown, this family-friendly trail offers two routes: an easy gravel path or a steeper, more scenic route with waterfalls, forested stairs, and mountain vistas. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with two stunning turquoise lakes tucked beneath towering limestone cliffs that are popular with rock climbers.
👟 Distance: 4.3 km round-trip
🕒 Time: About 1.5 hours
Great for anyone looking for a quick nature escape! Afterwards, relax in one of our three hot tubs at The Lodges.

Did you know this provincial flower can thrive in temperatures as low as –50 °C? 🥶 Like many Albertans, that’s one tough plant! 😉 Its delicate pink petals pop against icy landscapes, making it a true symbol of prairie resilience. 🐿️❄️ Fun Fact Friday! Did you know the Columbian ground squirrel is one of North America's most remarkable hibernators, spending up to eight months of the year in hibernation beneath the ground. 😴💤During their brief summer above ground, they stay busy eating as much as possible to build up the fat reserves needed to survive their long winter sleep. These industrious squirrels are a common sight in alpine meadows and mountain valleys—always on the lookout and quick to sound the alarm with a sharp whistle if danger approaches! You can also see them around Canmore at your next stay at The Lodges if you watch for them!

Fun Fact Friday! Did you know Canmore's Main Street art sculpture had it's beginnings as actual ice? Artist Alva Gallagher used pieces of ice from the Bow River to create casts for this creative display depicting glacial ice. This poignant reflection on climate change symbolizes the delicate balance between nature's grandeur and its vulnerability.
