We have had lots of new people join us in this space so it felt like time to do another introduction post. So, this is us, Susan and David! We are the owner operators of Bessie North House. One of David’s famous line is ‘I cook and Susan does everything else’ We are a two person team that run an intimate 12 seat restaurant in our 140 year old farmhouse located in Canning, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Susan has spent her career in the hospitality industry and David’s first career was in engineering then 12 years ago he made a move and went to Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa to become a chef.

We wanted to build a space where you feel welcome and comfortable and the food was super tasty. It took us almost 3 years to find this house but when we did we knew this was the place.

We welcomed our first guests in 2018 and haven’t looked back. We are starting our 8th season and are excited for you to join us!

Bessie North House is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, one seating at 6pm and a reservation is required.
