A spectacular moment in Carbonear Harbour! 🐋

Captured on Saturday July 11,2026 by Brent McCarthy, this stunning photograph shows a whale lifting its massive fin above the water while cruising through Carbonear Harbour.

The photo was taken aboard the K&E, looking south down the harbour toward the area of the old hospital.

Moments like this remind us how fortunate we are to live in a place where wildlife and history come together so beautifully. Thank you, Brent, for sharing this amazing glimpse of one of nature’s giants right here in our own harbour!

A new espresso blend is being served at our cafe in Carbonear this weekend. Espresso Suave…chocolate, sweet fruit jam, and a great full, creamy body. A blend of Brazilian beans from small private farms with outstanding quality. Be sure to drop by this weekend and check out that flavour! Also on the menu today is the return of a great hand pie. A take on the famous French stew Coq au Vin!
