🐴 NOW HIRING – EXPERIENCED TWO-HORSE TEAM DRIVER 🐴
Emerald Isle Carriage Tours – Charlottetown, PEI

We are looking for an experienced, dependable driver for September & October 2026.

Position Details:
• Cruise ship days only — approximately every second or third day
• Approximately 5 hours per day
• Must have extensive experience driving a two-horse hitch, carriage or wagon
• Horses will arrive harnessed and ready to go
• A guide/host is provided — you are responsible for driving only
• Must be confident driving in city traffic and around crowds
• Tips are split between the driver and guide, with excellent tipping potential on busy cruise days
• Housing may be available for the right candidate
• Opportunity for seasonal work next year from June–October

This is not a training position. We are looking for someone who is already confident and experienced with a two-horse team.

A little behind-the-scenes of what happens before every cruise ship tour…

This morning started at 4:45 AM.

Before most people are awake, we’re already at the barn bringing horses in from the field, washing and grooming them, cleaning and fitting harnesses, loading the truck and trailer, loading the horses, dropping Khorilee off at daycare, picking up the girls, and heading into Charlottetown to be ready for our cruise ship guests.

That preparation doesn’t happen in five minutes. It takes hours of planning, hard work, and a dedicated team. We also schedule our entire week around cruise ship arrivals, often turning away other bookings to ensure we’re ready for our cruise passengers.

Today, the cruise ship made the decision not to dock. We truly understand how disappointing that is for everyone onboard. We would have loved to welcome you to Prince Edward Island.

However, because Emerald Isle Carriage Tours was fully prepared and operating as scheduled, we’re unable to offer refunds for cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice when the cancellation is beyond our control. This is why we have a 24-hour cancellation policy.

Please know this isn’t about being uncaring. It’s about the reality of operating a small, family-run business. By the time a ship decides not to dock, the work has already been done, the expenses have already been incurred, and our horses are already in place waiting to welcome our guests.

We are always happy to move your booking to another available date if you’re returning to PEI, or transfer your reservation to a friend or family member who will be visiting.

Thank you to everyone who understands and supports local businesses. We appreciate you more than you know. ❤️🐴
