Thanks to everyone that took part in our first league playoffs. We had 37 players tee it up to try to take top spot and the title of inaugural Shanky’s Club Champion. We had three very courses with their own share of difficulties, so players needed to have it all if they wanted to succeed over the three rounds.

Shanky’s Club Champion 👑:

Big congrats to Evan Koke for sealing the deal and taking top spot as the Club Champion. Evan started out with a bit of a scrappy round finishing at +5, 9 off the pace heading into round 2. He honed in the short game to steady the ship at Old Macdonald carding a net +1 to get himself back into contention only 3 shots off the lead heading into the final round. He brought it all together at Evian with a bogey free front 9 and 3 birdies for an even par, net -5, fleecing the competition by 6 shots. He ultimately finished 1 over securing the victory by 2 strokes.

2nd Net:

Jordan Hughes was steady eddie going even par on both the first two rounds. He had the lead going into round 3 but faltered a bit with a bad stretch mid round. He almost got it back with an eagle on the last hole but ultimately fell just a bit short.

3rd Net:

Andrew Wood had a hot first round, leading the pack with a net -4. Old Macdonald caused some trouble around the greens with a couple of triple chips, coming back to earth with a +9. He finished strong at Evian carding a +3, for a +8 total rounding out the podium.

What a Masters week!

We had a great turnout for our second annual Masters scramble with 51 teams teeing it up at Wentworth West. The course played long and tough with lots of tucked pins, but we had lots up for the challenge with 22 teams getting into net red numbers. We had a battle at the top that came down to retrogression to decide the winners.

Low Net:

Gabe Inman and Emmett Lyons made it look easy out there making 10 birdies for for a -10 63, net 60. They had the also had the low gross round of the week and one of only 3 bogey free rounds. Congrats gentleman! 🏆

2nd Net:

🏖️ Justin Murphy and Mark Dunlop 🏝️ came out firing with a 28 on the front nine but were brought back down to earth with a 38 on the second nine for a 66 net 60. Close but no cigar.

3rd Net:

Jack Fortier and funcle Mark had a couple blemishes on the card but Jack was rolling the rock so they managed to mitigate the damage with 9 birdies, coming in with a -5 68, net 64 to round out the podium.

Skins:

Hole 6: Lucas Holmes & Zach Morrell (Eagle)

Hole 9: Corey Ganong & Bryce Corless (Birdie)

Hole 18: Mitch Jay & Jeremy Stevenson (Eagle)

The big winner for the week was Jack Fortier who was the winner of our draw for a new custom fit Titleist GT2 Driver. You’ll be hitting it by the old man in no time Jacky boy!!

We also had a draw for a Masters themed head cover donated by our good buddy Sharky from , we managed to snap a pic of Evan Koke picking it up on Masters Sunday.

Our weekly league is officially over and it’s time for everyone to gear up for playoff season. We’ve got 3 courses lined up that will put all aspects of your game to the test.

Three courses - Two weeks - One winner

Round 1 - Adare Manor:

This history at this course goes back centuries. The course has held the Irish Open on multiple occasions, and will be the host for the 2027 Ryder Cup. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones, but went through an extensive redesign by Tom Fazio in 2017. The course has some very strategic bunkering, and multiple water features that will require some decisive shot making.

Round 2 - Old Macdonald:

The course opened in 2010 at the Brandon Dunes Resort. It is a tribute to legendary architect C.B. Macdonald. It was built to resemble an old school links course, with massive greens, wide fairways and revetted bunkers. You won’t find much trouble off the tee, but your short game will need to be dialed in to get it anywhere close on the firm and fast greens.

Round 3 - Evian Resort:

The course is situated at the base of the French Alps, overlooking Lake Geneva. It has been home to the LPGA’s Evian Championship since 2000. You won’t many flat lies out there amongst the big elevation swings, and the course is well protected by the massive trees lining the fairways. Things can go sideways quickly out there, and the final stretch will make for a an eventful finish.

Playoffs run until Sunday, April 27th. All 3 courses are currently available for play , so feel free to get your rounds in at your leisure. You could get all 3 rounds in at once and try to post a low number, or spread them out over the 2 weeks so you know the score to beat, just be sure to bring your A-game

It was a tricky week out there to wrap things up for the regular season at Hudson National. We had 52 players tee it up with 14 managing to get it under par. The course had some very well placed bunkers and a ton of thick fescue. Everyone’s fairway stats would have taken a beating with the runways out there.

Low net:

Andy Morrison definitely had it going last week. The Chef made a few bogeys on the front but cleaned things up with a bogey free 31 back nine, and a walk off eagle from 182 yards on 18! He finished with a 2-under 69 for a net 65. Let him cook 👨🏼‍🍳 🔥

2nd Net:

Chee Ng was dynamite with a solid 78 highlighted, by a 37 on the back 9 with 2 birdies. Unfortunately Chee missed his par putt on 18 for the win and was bumped into second spot by retrogression thanks to Andy’s eagle on the last.

3rd Net:

Riley Thompson rounds out the podium with a solid 2 under 69, net 68. It was a near flawless round as he was bogey free until the last. Very impressive Riley!

Closest to the pin:

Hole 8: Justin Bradley @ 9’7

Hole 11: Gordon Wheatley @ 10’9 🧐

Longest Drive:

Gabe ‘The Down East Dinger’ Inman fleeced the competition with a 321 yard bomb to win by 34 yards 😳!

Skins 💵:

Hole 6: Shane Grinton (Eagle)

Hole 11: Craig Cameron (Birdie)

Hole 12: Craig Cameron (Eagle)

Hole 14: Cole Larkin (Eagle)

Hole 18: Andy Morrison (Eagle)

Last week at The K Club was definitely no walk in the park. The tree lined fairways paired with the abundance of water hazards made for a deadly combo. The K Club may have topped Sea Island Seaside for most water balls. I believe I saw 11 wet ones in one round 👀.

While the K Club does have a very tough rating, the handicaps were not enough to level the field. 11 of the top 13 net scores came from players with handicaps of 2 or less. It was definitely players course.

Low Net:

Brent Byrnes finally figured out how to putt an now looks dangerous out there. He carded a league high 6 birdies going 36-34 for a 2-under par 70, net 67. Very Nice round Byrnsy🔥!

2nd Net:

Stuart Shupe put his skills to the tournament test and definitely succeeded. He had a very steady round of 73, for a net 70.

3rd Net:

Devin Bruce finds himself on the podium for a second time this year. He had an impressive 4 birdies and an eagle en route to his 3-under 69, net 71. What a player!

Closest to the pin:

Hole 3: Stuart Shupe - 10’4

Hole 17: Alexander Hughes - 7’4

Longest Drive:

Dylan ‘Always Nailin’ Wheatley lived true to his name again, capturing his second long drive title in 3 weeks with his 311 yard bomb. Word is he’s currently on the LTIR, so the rest of us have a chance this week.

Skins 💰:

Hole 10: Liam McQuad (Birdie)

Hole 13: Connor Cameron (Eagle)

Top spot is definitely up for grabs this week with most players hovering around (net)even so far at Hudson National. Last chance to get in on the weekly action before the playoffs start!

We’ve made it to week 20, and our final regular season league round for the winter. Next week we’ve got our annual Masters 2-person scramble, followed by 2 weeks of our league playoffs.

This week we are heading south of the border down to Hudson National. It’s a Tom Fazio design perched high above the Hudson River, just north on New York City. It’s a tricky layout with lots of elevation swings. Most greens are raised up with false fronts up so it’s tough to roll on and very easy to spin back to 30 yards. The fescue is also plentiful and while it may look harmless, it’s hearty and will require some maneuvering to get out of.

With this being the last league round of the year, this is a reminder for those who are on the bubble and still need a round to hit our minimum playoff requirement (10/20 league rounds played), this is your last chance!

We have also decided on the prizing for our 3 round playoff finale 🏆:

2026 Shanky’s League Champion: 4 passes for PEI’s Finest Golf

2nd Net: 2 passes for PEI’s Finest Golf

3rd Net: $100 Lone Oak Gift Card

As per usual, there will be closest to the pin and longest drive prizes for each round!

What a week at Marcella Club! It seems that everyone enjoyed the enormous fairways and elevation change down in Utah. It was hard to find any trouble out there and it certainly showed, we had 49 players tee it up and ended with a record 17 players finishing net under par.

Low net:

Brett Arsenault takes his Shanky’s League record third 1st place finish of the season. He came out hot on the front 9 with a 34, and then things got a little sideways at start the back, but he managed to calm the nerves and went -1 on his last 3 for a 74 net 62. Maybe the handicap police will finally catch up with him after this one 👮🏼‍♂️.

2nd Net:

Ryan Curran had a career round out there going bogey free with 6 birdies and 2 eagles for a 62 net -7. He was 5 under on the last 3 holes which ultimately gave him the nod into 2nd place via retrogression.

3rd Net:

For the second time this season, Steven Lannigan posted a low number early in the week that seemed untouchable only to be taken out late on the weekend. Steve also went bogey free with 9 birdies for a clean 63, net -7.

Closest to the pin:

Hole 3: Evan Koke - 7’6

Hole 11: Cody MacKay - 1’4

Longest Drive:

It was tough competition with 20 drives over 300 yards but Calen ‘Long Drives>Low Scores’ MacInnis came out on top, punishing one 392 yards. Still the longest hitter at Harbourside!

Skins:

Hole 12: Corey Ganong (Eagle)

Hole 16: Ryan Curran (Eagle)

We’re in Ireland trying our hand at The K Club this week. Early signs are showing that accuracy is paying off more than power out there. Keeping it on the short stuff is paramount for making pars. This week we’re heading to one of Europe’s Crown Jewels, The K Club’s Palmer North Course. It has been home to many notable events including the 2006 Ryder Cup where Europe put a beating on the U.S. winning 18.5-9.5. They are also the biannual host of the Irish Open where Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood have claimed victory.

The course is built on an estate that dates back to the 16th century and the courses were build in the early 1990’s, both designed by Arnold Palmer. The K Club is not your typical Irish layout, it’s a classic parkland design, weaving through mature trees and the River Liffey. The fairways are tight and there are plenty of holes where less than driver is recommended. You’ll need to play smart and bring your A-game if you want a chance at the podium this week!
