WE’RE HIRING!!!

Visitor Information Counsellors and Summer Students.

Join the Tourism Wells Gray team for the 2026 season and help visitors discover the very best of Wells Gray Park and the Clearwater area.

As part of our front-line team, you’ll welcome visitors from around the world, share local knowledge, promote local businesses and tourism experiences, and assist with bookings for our stakeholders.

Seasonal Position
May–October 9th 2026
30–40 hours per week
$20/hour

We are also hoping to bring on a couple of summer students during our busiest months, making this a great opportunity for students looking to build experience in tourism, customer service, retail, and community engagement.

What You’ll Do!
* Welcome and assist visitors from around the world
* Share accurate information on attractions, accommodations, services, and activities
* Promote local businesses, adventures, and tourism stakeholders
* Support bookings for accommodations, tours, and local experiences
* Process retail sales using Square POS
* Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional visitor centre
* Support daily visitor centre and tourism operations

Perks of the Position
* 8 Adventure Hours, get paid to explore!
* 2% Commission on Stakeholder Bookings
* Tourism and customer service training
* Hands-on retail and business system experience

Canada Summer Jobs Funded Position

Priority consideration may be given to applicants who meet CSJ eligibility criteria:
* 15–30 years of age at the start of employment
* Canadian citizens, Permanent residents, or Protected Persons.
* Must have a valid Social Insurance Number

There’s still time to take that winter trip to Helmcken Falls!

In winter, Helmcken Falls transforms into one of Canada’s most breathtaking frozen scenes. The 141 metre (463 foot) waterfall thunders into a dramatic canyon, and the constant mist freezes into a towering ice cone at the base.

The ice formation typically builds through January and February, when temperatures in Wells Gray Provincial Park stay consistently below freezing. While the waterfall never fully freezes, the surrounding cliffs shimmer with thick blue ice and snow, creating an unforgettable winter landscape.

The main viewing platform remains accessible by road year round, but winter tires and caution are essential due to snow and icy conditions.
