Here are just a few highlights from this year’s competition! 👀🏖️

We loved seeing families, friends and sandcastle enthusiasts turn piles of sand into something truly special. A big thank you to everyone who picked up a shovel, got a little sandy and helped make this year’s festival such a memorable day on the beach. ❤️

Spend Saturday, August 22 exploring some of what’s happening around Cobourg.

Start at the Cobourg Farmers’ Market at Rotary Harbourfront Park (35 Albert Street), where the Youth Entrepreneurship Market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring products from some of Northumberland’s young entrepreneurs.

At the waterfront, take in a charity beach volleyball tournament supporting BBBS Northumberland, then head to the Cobourg Marina (103 Third Street) for The Tragically Hip’s final concert on the big screen, marking 10 years since the band’s iconic final performance.

Local markets, waterfront events and an evening celebrating the music of a Canadian favourite — all part of Saturday in Cobourg.

The Great Ontario Salmon Derby is underway, bringing eight weeks of fishing excitement to Lake Ontario — and Cobourg is right in the middle of it.

Jason S. made the most of his time on the water, landing a 31.64 lb fish aboard Tyee Hunter in Cobourg.

With the 29th annual derby running until August 22, there’s still plenty of time for anglers to get out on the water and see what’s biting.
