Sundays are for slowing down and finding a little peace. 🌿 Looking for a quiet retreat? Discover the Meditation Garden in Victoria Park, where beauty and history come together.

Here you’ll find lush gardens and the powerful bronze statue of Fern Blodgett Sunde by Sudbury sculptor Tyler Fauvelle. Raised in Cobourg, Fern made history as the first woman to serve as a deep-sea wireless radio operator during WWII’s Battle of the Atlantic.

The statue, Make Waves, is rich with symbolism: the headphones draped around her neck, the pin on her lapel, and the wave she touches — a wave that represents not only social change for women, but also Canada’s role in the Battle of the Atlantic. A close-up shows the relief sculpted into the wave pays tribute to that chapter of our nation’s history.

Take a moment to reflect, breathe, and be inspired by this lasting tribute in the heart of Cobourg.

Looking for a great place to make Cobourg memories? Look no further than Lookout Point Park! 👀🌊🧺

Thank you to Nathalie Prézeau of Toronto Best Urban Strolls for capturing these stunning photos of Lookout Point Park. You’ll find this hidden gem at the foot of Coverdale Avenue, just south of King E, with convenient on-street parking in a peaceful residential neighbourhood.

The park itself is more of a quiet, grassy pathway that gently leads to a breathtaking lakeside lookout. During Nathalie’s visit, she noticed a woman sitting on a bench with her little dog, gazing out over the water. Later, a friend joined her and shared that the bench was dedicated to the woman’s late husband—adding a tender layer of meaning to this already serene spot.

"The place is so nice that I came back there to have a picnic with some friends and it was heaven!"

Here's a throwback to one of our town's most iconic landmarks - have you visited yet? Step into Cobourg’s past at the Cobourg & Area Museum (CAM)—a historic gem that shares the stories of our community and the people who shaped it. Once known locally as “the barracks,” this rare limestone building was rescued from collapse in 1999 by the Cobourg Museum Foundation, a group of dedicated volunteers determined to preserve local heritage. Today, it stands as the Sifton-Cook Exhibit Hall, part of a vibrant museum that continues to celebrate Cobourg’s history through exhibits, events, and outreach programs.

✨ This Saturday from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm, CAM welcomes you to a special Open House! Bring the whole family for children’s activities, a corn roast, and apple peeling & tasting, plus guided museum tours that make history come alive.

Cobourg is your perfect getaway—and sometimes the simplest traditions make it extra special. On warm summer evenings by the waterfront, you might hear the sound of bagpipes as the sun sets over Lake Ontario. This is called Piping Down the Sun.

The tradition began many years ago with the navy, when music would play as the flag was lowered at the end of the day. Today in Cobourg, it’s a beautiful way to pause, listen, and enjoy the calm of the evening. Families and visitors gather along the pier to watch the sky change colours while the music drifts across the water.

It’s a moment that feels both magical and memorable—something you’ll never forget during your visit. 🌅🎶
