The fifth annual Gary Marcus Trucking LTD. weekend is upon us, with some of BC's best Late Model drivers coming to Saratoga Speedway for two days of exciting racing action.
Each year the Battle at Black Creek brings together the two premiere Late Model sanctioning bodies in the province, the LD Industries BC Late Models and the Applied Industrial Technologies WESCAR Late Model Series for two 125 lap main events on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
With defending event winner Kyle Cottam not in attendance this weekend, the race will be wide open, with the potential of a new Battle at Black Creek winner for both nights.
Charlie Ackerman swept both 50 lap main events last time the BC Late Models were at Saratoga Speedway on May 24th. The sophomore Late Model driver will look to transition his short long speed into a long-distance race win this weekend.
In addition to Ackerman Daryl Crocker is back behind the wheel of his championship winning Mustang from last year. Crocker had Jason Frost substitute drive his car on May 24th, with Frost earning a second and fourth place run in the Twin 50 lap mains.
Kyle Wade will also be in action, with the driver of the Wade Racing 98 back in familiar territory after running with the WESCAR series for their opening two races of 2025 in Williams Lake and Prince George. Wade finished third in the season opening Late Model Twin 50 on May 24th before a spark plug fouled his chances at starting the second main event.
A full field of Northern contenders are expected to be in attendance with a great field of cars already entered for the weekend.
Fans can get their tickets for both nights of racing at saratogaracing.ca or at the box office both Saturday and Sunday.
