🛶 CALLING ALL CRANBERRY PORTAGE PADDLERS — FROM OUR KIDS TO OUR SEASONED CANOEISTS! 🛶
Aurora is excited to encourage our community to get out and take part in the Cranberry Portage Challenge on Saturday, September 12!
This is about more than winning a race. It’s about getting outside, moving our bodies, working together, learning traditional northern skills and celebrating the heritage of the community we call home. ❤️
And there’s something for every generation!
🌲 KIDS 12 & UNDER
The Kids’ Canoe Challenge takes place at 1:00 p.m. at the beach area. Life jackets are available, and a parent/guardian consent form is required. Parents, get those young paddlers registered ahead of time!
🛶 YOUTH 13–17
Grab a teammate and take on the full Paddle • Portage • Tea Boil challenge! Youth have their own division with prizes of $300 / $200 / $100 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
🔥 ADULTS 18+
This one’s for you too! Find a partner and put your paddling, portaging, fire-building and teamwork skills to the test. Adult prizes are $500 / $300 / $200.
The main Challenge meets at 9:45 a.m. at the Canoe Historic Monument in Cranberry Portage Park, with the race beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Teams of 2 • $50/team • Registration closes Friday, September 11. Canoes and equipment are available on a first-come, first-served basis with a $50 refundable deposit. Challenge teams must bring their own axe for the Tea Boil.
