Experience Comox Valley The Comox Valley is the traditional territory of the Puntledge, E’iksan and K’ómoks peoples. Today the three tribes are known as the K’ómoks First Nation.

We are a multi-purpose information centre that is one of a kind on Vancouver Island. We provide much more than a comfortable place to stop and relax, between destinations. Enjoy our outdoor space, where children can play, explore and see a real Snowbird Tudor plane. We have a fantastic exhibit hall displaying what the Comox Valley has to offer. We have free Wifi ('Public' network - no password required), and a great gift shop with an assortment of local products and souvenirs available in person and online at https://discover-comox-valley-store.myshopify.com/. Our tourism team will continue to assist visitors and residents with questions and activity options through digital channels including online web chat, email, and social media, as well as by phone. Service will continue to be provided Tuesday - Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Surfside Fish and Chips at the Comox Dock is wrapping up the season on October 18, so head down to Comox Marina Park before they close until next year.

It’s salmon run season on the Puntledge River! ⁠

Here’s what you need to know when visiting the Puntledge River Hatchery this fall:⁠
🕣 Hours: Open 7 days a week, 8:30 am–3:30 pm⁠
👀 Peak salmon viewing is typically around mid-October.
ℹ️ A big open house is planned for October 18, 10 am-3 pm, and visitors can enjoy behind-the-scenes access at the hatchery.

Happy International Geodiversity Day!

The Comox Valley’s landscapes tell a story millions of years in the making. From the peaks of Strathcona Provincial Park to the tidal flats of the Courtenay Estuary, the rocks, soils, rivers and landforms beneath our feet have shaped the forests, farms and shorelines we know today.

Hornby Island is home to three provincial parks, and 40% of the island is parkland. 🌲 That’s a lot of forest, coastline and trails to explore.

Getting there is part of the experience, with two short ferry rides of about 10 minutes each, connected by a scenic 15-minute drive on Denman Island.

One of Downtown Courtenay’s favourites for burgers, fries and shakes, Big Wheel Burger Courtenay brings a Vancouver Island-owned approach to fast food.

With a focus on great food, sustainability and community, Big Wheel was the first carbon-neutral fast food restaurant in Canada when it opened in 2011. Today, that commitment continues through local, sustainable and community-driven practices. The Courtenay location opened its doors in 2024.
