Many of the incidents being reported are occurring on Mexico’s Pacific coast, particularly in the Puerto Vallarta/Jalisco region. Cancun and the Riviera Maya are located on the Caribbean coast, more than 2,000 km away, and are not in the same area.
At this time, tourism operations in Cancun and the Riviera Maya are continuing as normal.
