Exploring Wat Hanchey in Cambodia 🇰🇭
Perched high above the Mekong River, Wat Hanchey was such an interesting stop on my AmaWaterways journey. We wandered through the peaceful temple grounds surrounded by lush greenery, colourful statues, beautiful Buddha images and even a few curious monkeys! 🐒
I love that river cruising takes you beyond the larger cities and gives you the opportunity to experience places like this along the way. Another memorable day exploring Cambodia. ❤️

A beautiful visit to Oudong, Cambodia, where we had the opportunity to experience the peaceful atmosphere of a Buddhist monastery and learn more about the traditions and daily lives of the monks. 🇰🇭🙏

Surrounded by history, beautiful architecture and a sense of calm, this was another memorable experience along my journey through Cambodia with AmaWaterways. ❤️

A glimpse into village life in Cambodia 🇰🇭
Today I had the opportunity to visit Angkor Ban, where we walked through the village, visited a local home and experienced a little of everyday life in rural Cambodia. We also visited the local monastery and had the special experience of serving a meal to the monks.
It’s experiences like this—meeting local people and seeing how they live—that make travelling so much more than simply seeing the sights. ❤️

Today I visited Silk Island (Koh Dach), a peaceful escape from the busy streets of Phnom Penh. 🧵
We learned how silk is made from the beginning — from the silkworm spinning its cocoon, to carefully unwinding the delicate silk threads, dyeing and spinning them, and finally weaving them by hand into beautiful scarves, clothing and other products.
It was fascinating to see this traditional craft still being carried on by local Cambodian families. A wonderful glimpse into the culture and everyday life of Cambodia. ❤️🇰🇭

🇰🇭 A Peaceful Moment at Oudong Monastery
One of the most beautiful parts of visiting Oudong was experiencing the peaceful monastery and seeing the spiritual side of Cambodia. 🛕✨
Surrounded by beautiful Buddhist architecture, colourful details and a quiet atmosphere, the monastery is a wonderful place to pause and take in the culture and traditions of Cambodia.
It was such a special experience to step away from the busy pace of travel and spend a little time in this peaceful setting. 🇰🇭❤️
