We had a few rain showers this afternoon but the whales don’t mind that one bit so off we went to locate them. We found humpback whales Puppet, Frost, Rope and Jurassic logging just a few miles away. The passengers were getting some good looks at the sleepy whales when all of a sudden Puppet decided to do a tail lob and then a pec slap. A few seconds later frost followed with a tail lob as well. Then Puppet continued with some more tail lobs, some tail slaps and a few more pec slaps. What a great afternoon show!!!

Another feeding frenzy morning off the lighthouse. Humpbacks Salamander, Memorial, Photon and her Calf, Puppet and Southpaw were all present as well as many others in the distance. Some Atlantic white sided dolphins joined the all you can eat buffet as well as there was plenty for everyone. Love to see so much feed in the bay lately!!!!

Saturday August 15th 2pm

The followed whales all the way up to Sandy cove this afternoon and we could still see blows farther up first was Wigwam that gave us some nice big dives and we could see handstand feeding right off of sandy cove beach! A cute little harbour seal popped up behind us for a few seconds as well. But it was Photon’s calf that captured passengers hearts this afternoon. While swimming beside its mom the calf was feeling playful with some headstands and quick zoomies while diving. Then it proceeded to spyhop a few times while doing some slow pirouettes in the water!!! Such a playful, adorable little calf you have this year Photon 🥰

Captain Matt didn’t even have time to finish welcoming passengers to the amazing bay of Fundy when a whale popped up beside the boat. Humpbacks Magpie, Handstand, Memorial, Lapel and a 4th unidentified individual where hanging out right at the mouth of the petite passage where lots of fish where swimming about making for an easy breakfast. They delighted passengers with flukes every which way they looked. A few were making bubble clouds to trap fish and one individual did a lunge feed beside the boat. What a way to start our morning!!!!!

Must have been 100 white sided dolphins jumping around in the current to the delight of all onboard!!!! Some came so close we could see them swimming under the water beside the boat. The. We settled into watching humpbacks yurt and gondolier who gave us some beautiful shots of them in front of the boars head lighthouse. Such an amazing afternoon on the bay!!!!!

What a start to the day. It wasn’t 15 minutes in to watching the whales when humpback Gondolier decided to show us what humpbacks are famous for with some breaching to start, tail lobs and then finishing off with some pec slaps. Magpie was also right alongside just hanging out and lots of white sided dolphins.

Thank you Memorial for the remarkable afternoon. She gave us an excellent show of pec slapping over and over again. Puppet was also alongside however was taking an easy afternoon for once and just enjoying the sunshine. While there was lots of other humpbacks in the area ( we counted at least 10 humpback blows within 2 miles) we stuck with the greatest show!!!!

Some fog hanging around in the morning adding some dramatic backdrops to pictures today. We started with humpback Sunburst that gave us a few lazy flukes and then we sat and watched some Atlantic white sided dolphins for a bit. But it was humpback bottleneck that stole the show this morning with 3 breaches and lots of pec slaps.

The whales were right off the boars head lighthouse again this afternoon. We had Gondolier and Patchwork that gave us quite the show of close approaches tails and pec slaps. There were lots of other humpbacks all around the area as well. Whales whales everywhere!!!!
