If you just want a list of thrift stores - the Downtown Victoria Business Association has that.

You can take yourself. 🙂

But if you're looking for something different…

This is for the person who gets genuinely excited about finding something incredible for $20 or less.

The person who wants to share that moment with someone.

The one who's tired of doing cool things alone.

At Thrift Hunt Collective, we run guided 2-hour thrift hunts through hidden gems most locals don't even know exist.

One of our customers has been thrifting in Victoria for 25+ years.

She told us she'd never heard of the shops we took her to AND couldn't believe the treasures she found for the price she found them at.

This isn't shopping.

This is an adventure.

With people who get it.

If that's you and you’re also looking to connect with others too, comment HUNT and we'll send you the details. 👇

ABOUT US 🙂

We didn’t start this as a business. We started it because of our mom.

My brother Joshua, and I (Sarah) grew up learning something most people never get taught.

How to walk into a thrift store and walk out with something you’ll treasure for life.

Our mom, Annie, had a gift (passed down to her from her mom (our Oma)).

Our mom, Annie, could spot a $10 cashmere sweater and know - before she even touched the seams, that it was worth ten times that.

She taught us how to look for quality.

How to style every piece with intention.

How to build a wardrobe or a home full of things we genuinely love so we never feel the itch to overconsume or continuously search for something missing.

“We overshop because we aren’t satisfied. Mom taught us how to be satisfied and grateful.”

Over the last decade, alongside Annie, we started hosting guided and self-guided thrift hunts.

Just because we loved it and wanted to share it.

London. Germany. New York. Montreal. San Diego. Kelowna. Calgary. Victoria. Eastern Townships. Small towns in Alberta. And even virtual hunts during the pandemic.

Every time we did it, people would say:

“You need to turn this into a company.”

And every time, we’d laugh and say - “Nah. We do it because we love it.” 😆

But something shifted.

Times got harder.

People started feeling the weight of tight budgets, overwhelming stores, and the guilt of buying things that don’t last or don’t bring real joy.

And my brother Joshua and I realized that what our mom passed down to us… was rare.

Not everyone had an Annie or our Oma.

So we built Thrift Hunt Collective.

To pass something down.

The same skills, the same eye, the same joy our mom gave us — shared with anyone ready to experience the thrill of the find.

“There is a way of wasting less, consuming less and spending less which gives not less, but more.

More joy. More connection. Less guilt. More to share.”

We’re not about cutting back.

We’re about living joyfully, richly, and creatively.

And thrifted treasures found on an adventure can do exactly that.

Welcome to the hunt. 🌿

We’re so glad to have you join us.

We posted a video about an elevator-only thrift store and keep waking up to… this.

Our inbox, comments, and notifications completely flooded.

We are still in shock honestly.

If you followed, commented, or sent us a message, thank you.

Like genuinely, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

We see every single one of you.

We are working through every comment and message as fast as we can.

We will get back to you, we promise. 🙏

You found us for a reason.

And we cannot wait to take you on your next self-guided or guided thrift hunt.

One of our guests said something after her hunt that we never forgot. 🌿

“I met new friends, exchanged phone numbers and we’re going to connect next week.”

She didn’t come for that.

She came for the thrifting.

But she left with something she wasn’t expecting.

People.

Real ones.

That’s always been the magic of what we do.

And it’s something we’ve seen happen over and over again on hunts across the world.

In London. In Montreal. In Victoria. In Calgary. In Kelowna. In San Diego.

Strangers who showed up for the hunt.

And left as friends.

So here’s a question for you 🤔

What if you could show up at a specific time and place in your city…

And see if another thrift hunter shows up too?

No pressure.

No obligation.

Just the option to thrift hunt together if you want to. 🌿

That’s part of what we’re building.

And it’s ready.

Comment FRIENDS below if you’d be brave enough to show up. 👇

Let’s clear something up real quick. 👇

A thrift store IS a resale shop.

That’s literally what it is.

“Thrift” means being smart and economical with your money.

And thrift stores do exactly that —

They take pre-owned items, clean them up, price them fairly, and give them a second life.

Some are donation-based.

Some buy and resell select pieces.

Both. Are. Thrift. Stores. ✅

Resale boutiques, second-hand shops, charity shops

Different names, same concept.

Now here’s the thing about our hunts:

We curate lists of real thrift spots where you can score hidden gems and one-of-a-kind treasures.

Not every find will be there tomorrow.

That’s the whole point. 🔥

That thrill of the find.

That’s what we live for.

And if you’re here for that…

Welcome. You’re in the right place. 🙌

But if you’re here to complain, or tell us what counts as “real” thrifting

This community isn’t for you, and that’s okay.

We’re building something for people who LOVE the hunt, the thrill of the find.

Who want to explore new spots.

Who want to find their people while finding their treasures.

Who want to get better at the skill of thrifting.

That’s our crew.

Are you one of us? Drop YES if this kind of thrifting is your thing.

The content in this image is from an article by called “What is a thrift store? Complete definition & guide” 🙌 Go and check it out, it’s a good one. ☝️

We’ve been working on something behind the scenes. 🌿

And we’re almost ready to share it.

Here’s what I can tell you right now…

It’s for the thrifter who wants to go on a real hunt.

On their own schedule.

In their own city.

But with everything they need to find the good stuff.

And the option to meet other thrift hunters along the way.

Over the last decade we’ve taken 100+ people on guided thrift hunts (in person and virtually) across the world.

London. New York. Germany. Montreal. San Diego. Santa Barbara. Kelowna. Victoria. Calgary. Montreal. Eastern Townships and more.

And the number one thing people ask us after is —

“Can I do this again on my own?”

So we built something for that. 🌿

It’s almost ready.

And we want you to be the first to know when it drops.

Comment PASS below and we’ll notify you the moment it launches. 👇

There’s a thrift store you can only get to by taking an elevator. 👀

Most people walk right past it every single day and have no idea it exists. 😅

That’s exactly the kind of spot we take you to on a Thrift Hunt Collective tour.

Not the stores everyone already knows.

The ones tucked away, off the beaten path, hidden in plain sight. 🗺️

Every hunt is different.

You never know what you’re going to find.

You never know where you’re going to end up.

And that’s kind of the whole point. 👀

Several people have already gone on a hunt with us.

Not one of them left empty-handed.

If you’re in and you love a good thrift find… this is your sign. 🛍️

DM us “THRIFT HUNT” and we’ll get you booked on the next one.

“When you're thrifting for quality clothes, make sure you're buying pieces that you can mix and match and will stand the test of time.

The tweed skirt I'm wearing is in a neutral tone that allows me to wear it with many different colours. As for the sweater, I can elevate it to a dressy level by pairing it with the skirt and adding some earrings. Alternatively, I can also wear the sweater with a pair of blue jeans as well as the boots and look polished and put together without much effort.

The secret sauce lies in buying pieces in quality fabrics. Or, at the very least, look like they are made with high quality fabrics (like the tweed skirt which is actually made of synthetic fibers).

The entire outfit - sweater, skirt, boots, earrings, and watch - cost me a little over $50.00.”

Just a quick update ❤️

We’re still here and still building — just doing a lot of our work behind the scenes right now.
We’ve intentionally stepped back from regular posting so we can focus on growth, structure, and what’s next. Building something meaningful often includes quiet seasons, and sometimes those are the most productive ones.

We’re choosing focus over noise, progress over performance, and long-term growth over constant visibility.

Grateful for those who understand that not everything worth building needs an audience. We’ll share more when the time is right.
