Well I am home from Italy now and took yesterday to recover from my jet lag. What an exhausting yet exhilarating experience we had.
On our final day we travelled from Salerno south to Paestum by bus. Our first stop was the Tenuta Vanello buffalo farm where we toured the barn and watched them make buffalo mozzarella. After exploring we had an incredible lunch there with the freshest mozzarella and riccotta cheese, and of course Wine. Then on to the Archaeological Park in Paestum to see the Greek Temple ruins from 500 BC. They are incredible preserved. We finished the day with site inspections of 2 hotels in the area and then back to Salerno for our final dinner.
Departed for the airport early Sunday morning and back to real life. 🫩 . Good view of Mount Vesuvius from the air.
We really got a good look at the Amalfi coast experiences and various hotel options so I am ready to help plan your bucket list trip to this area of Italy!!

The past 2 days have been busy and filled with 14,000 steps per day, a lot of them up hill or steps. Yesterday we went to the island of Capri, known as a playground for the rich and famous. Filled with high end shops and gorgeous hotels. We did site inspections at 2 of them. We visited the cities of Capri and AnaCapri. Beautiful viewpoints all around the island but the most scary hairpin turns on a minibus coming within inches of oncoming vehicles. Then we took the ferry for 1.5 hrs to Salerno where we spend the next 3 nights. Today we left the hotel at 9 am and just returned at 11 pm. Filled with yet more walking around the main city and Old Salerno. Did a couple more hotel site inspections and finished the eve with a traditional pizzeria dinner in one of the city squares. It was so cool. Many side by side restaurants, all with outdoor patios and tons of families all there. A typical Friday night! Noisey as heck, inside the restaurant the staff all yelling orders and at each other....just like the movies. The first 4 days have been exhausting but wonderful. Going to a farm tomorrow to learn how to make buffalo mozzarella!!

Well its been a beautiful, sunny and hot first 2 days on the Amalfi Coast. We spent the first 2 nights in Maori and move tomorrow to a hotel in Sorrento. We have toured several hotels and today took a ferry to explore the towns of Positano and Amalfi. Lots of walking and stairs but so much to see. Lots of great food and wine...lots of wine and of course I am really liking the Limoncello!!!

Have you been wanting to travel to Italy? To the Amalfi coast in particular? I am leaving tonite on an agent trip to see it myself for the first time. We will be touring the sites as well as many of the hotels on the coast. This will help me plan your perfect vacation. Hopefully all of Trumps attention is on the middle east and he won't interfere with this trip like he did with my Dubai one.

Well it's been a month since I finally was able to get out of Dubai. My stay was extended an extra 4 days due to the war and I can't thank Atlantis The Royal hotel https://www.atlantis.com/atlantis-the-royal enough for allowing us to stay extra days at no charge. We did a lot of sightseeing too. Went to the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi https://www.szgmc.gov.ae/. Saw the Louve Abu Dhabi https://www.louvreabudhabi.ae/, the Souks in old Dubai, the Burj Kahlifa, the Dubai Mall.
Also spent an evening out in the desert at Babs Al Shams https://www.babalshams.com/ for a wonderful Iftar dinner and show.
Twice was able to do desert jeep safaris which were so incredible.
The UAE is an absolutely beautiful country, full of very nice people and sights to see. I have never seen so many high rises in my life. If I was an architect that is where I would live as they are all quite unique designs.
The war in Iran did impact us as for some reason Iran shot hundreds of missles and drones at us every day. BUT the UAE air missle defense system is awesome and intercepted over 95% of them. Life went on as normal but everytime we got an emergency alert on our phones, which was multiple times a day, we looked up to the sky and tried to head indoors as it is the falling shrapnel from intercepted missles that is the most dangerous.
Would I go back? In a flash!!!
