Erieau Yacht Club Swim & Sail Camp

Erieau Yacht Club Swim & Sail Camp Summer fun is coming to Erieau! Full Day Camps are back by popular demand. We offer full day camps to learn the art of sailing and swimming for ages 5-16.

The ESS (Erieau Yacht Club Swim & Sail Camp) offers a fun and educational experience to campers every summer on Rondeau Bay. We provide qualified sailing instructors to offer campers the ability to get their CANSail levels 1-4. For our swimming program we will be following the LifeSaving Society guidelines and offer preschool levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and swim levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. We will also be

running our Bronze Star, Medallion and Cross week August 8th – 12th. Campers will enjoy three segmented activities with a set number kids in each (dependent on the season situation, check back later for exact details):

Arts & Crafts: Kids have an opportunity to expand their artistic skills under the sun. Swimming: Campers learn to swim in nature on Rondeau Bay under the watchful eyes of qualified counsellors. Sailing: Using the EYC fleet, kids learn the skill, camaraderie and passion of sailing. All campers are encouraged to join in the Junior Racing Program. www.erieauyachtclub.com

It’s already time for a trophy race with our 3rd annual EYC C Scow International Regatta! The Sailors are here, and rarin’ to go.

Will the USA take the cup again or will Canada reclaim it?

Check out the races this weekend on the bay (and maybe the lake depending on conditions).

Ahoy EYC Members!

It's official! The docks are in thanks to our amazing Grounds & Waterfront committee. A big thank-you to all of the volunteers who helped to make this happen!

NEW BOATS FOR CAMP!
---------------------------
The boats are out of their hideaway and are anxiously waiting to be sailed. This year we will be debuting 3 brand new sailboats for our camp sailors. They are Topaz Uno boats from Topper! You can read up about them and other Topper products at https://www.topazsailboats.com/why-topaztopper/topaz-uno-race/.

MEMBERSHIP RAFFLE UPDATE

Allison Kloostra and I drew a name from the bowl and John Gooch was the winner of an official EYC glass! Next week, we will do another draw for a free t-shirt for members that have signed up for membership on-line at https://erieauyachtclub.com. Don't miss out on some free swag!!!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
--------------------------
This Saturday, June 17th, at 10 a.m. we will be cleaning the inside and outside of the clubhouse. We are looking for volunteers to help, even if it is just for an hour, so that we can work together to get it done and really make everything shiny for the season. We will have cleaning supplies ready to go!

The House Committee has created a wish list of items we need help on; they are as follows:

-Power wash exterior clubhouse left side/waterfront
-Power wash exterior clubhouse right side/back
-Club swept
-Clean Both Bathrooms
-Clean Kitchen and screens in kitchen
-Clean Windows waterfront
-Clean Windows back of the club
-Clean Ceiling Fans
-Clean Walls
-Get Commodore pictures back up
-Trophy Cabinet dusted and organized
-Wipe down chairs
-Garden cleanup/maintenance
-Paint ladders and put in
-Picnic tables removed from maintenance shed
-Maintenance shed organized

Any help you can provide will be much appreciated not only by the adult members but by all our campers.

It's lonely at the top (of the House Committee), if anyone is interested in joining this committee please let me know! We need a few good cleaners and planners!

Thanks again for all that you do for the EYC, we hope to see you at the clubhouse this Saturday!

Yours Truly,
Heather Boswell
