It is hard to believe that it has been two years since I started this new adventure! There has definitely been a lot to learn!
Since starting I have had the opportunity to travel several times for both business and pleasure. In November 2017 we traveled to Ocean Riviera Paradise, Riviera Maya, Mexico. This was an amazing resort that I would definitely go to again. In March 2018 we took the kids on a family vacation to the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort and Spa in Mexico. It was the kids first trip and the resort definitely had lots for them to do.
I took part in my first familiarization trip in May 2018. On this trip I traveled with a group of travel agents to Las Vegas. The trip included site tours of the Treasure Island hotel, where we were staying, as well as several other hotels. We were also able to participate in numerous excursions. We had an amazing meal at Chica restaurant where we met celebrity chef Lorena Garcia. We enjoyed another memorable meal at Battista’s Hole in the Wall restaurant (this restaurant is filled with old time Las Vegas memorabilia). We saw the Vegas strip from the High Roller Observation Wheel. Photo Tours Vegas showed us some of the sights of Vegas and took pictures for us (this is something that groups traveling to Vegas should definitely consider). I had my first ever ride in a race car at Exotic Racing Las Vegas (this will also be my last ride in a race car - I definitely do not feel the need for speed). I was even able to cross off one of the items on my bucket list which was to see a Cirque de Soleil show (I actually got to see two - Love and Mystere). There is so much to see and do in Vegas!
Most recently (April 3 to 8, 2019) I traveled to Punta Cana as part of a Transat familiarization trip. We stayed at the Bahia Principe Fantasia and had site tours of 25 additional resorts. There is definitely something for everyone in Punta Cana! We also took part in a Runners Adventure Tour. The tour included a visit to the home of a typical Dominican family, a demonstration on how the cocoa bean is harvested and dried, a demonstration of the proper way of rolling a cigar and a demonstration of how sugar cane was originally processed. The tour ended with a buffet lunch of traditional Dominican dishes. This excursion was a wonderful way to learn more about the Dominican culture!
I am off to Cancun and Playa del Carmen in June 2019 for my next adventure!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far!
What ever your travel plans are I would love to help you have the best vacation possible.
Hope to hear from you soon!
September 4, 2017:
I am excited to let you all know that I am now a Travel Agent!
I decided to become a Travel Agent for a couple of reasons. One, I can work from home and set my own hours. Two, I love to travel and would like to help other people have amazing vacations.
This is how my first trip happened. In April 2014 my husband decided that we were going on a trip to Mexico. We contacted a Travel Agent and with her help we found a vacation that worked for us. On Monday we went to the passport office and applied for our passports (thats right we didn't have passports - we paid extra so we could have them in two days). On Tuesday we booked our trip. On Wednesday we picked up our passports. On Thursday we flew to Mexico. I had just turned 50 and it was an awesome experience.
In February 2015 we made a second trip to the Mayan Riviera (Mexico) and in March 2016 we went to the Dominican Republic. All three vacations were incredible and I can't wait for the next one. Although I haven't done a lot of travelling I now have a long list of places I would like to go.
What are your travel plans? A train trip across Canada. A shopping trip to the States. A family trip to Disneyland. An Alaskan Cruise. Or maybe an all inclusive vacation in Mexico. What ever your plans let me know and I will do what ever I can to help you have the best vacation possible.
Hope to hear from you soon!
