Highland Pines Resort — Important Notice Regarding the Phase 3 Waterfall Feature
Dear Highland Pines Resort Guests and Families,
We are so pleased that our new waterfall addition in Phase 3 has been so warmly received. Seeing guests enjoy this beautiful space is exactly what we had in mind when we invested in it — which is why we need to address something important.
Over the past several weeks, we have observed repeated damage to this feature — rocks repositioned in ways that restrict water flow, and plants pulled from the ground. This is not a minor concern. The waterfall system serves a vital environmental function: the plants and rocks work together as a living ecosystem that oxygenates the pond, absorbs excess nutrients, and keeps the water clear and healthy. When they are disturbed, the entire pond suffers — and that affects everyone.
Please be advised that security cameras are currently being installed in and around the Phase 3 pond area and will be in place shortly. Any guest or visitor found interfering with the waterfall feature, the rocks, or the surrounding vegetation will face immediate consequences in accordance with Highland Pines Resort's site rules and policies — including financial responsibility for repairs, formal warnings, and removal from the resort.
Effective immediately, we ask all guests to please:
• Refrain from disturbing the waterfall area and filtration pond
• Leave all rocks and landscaping exactly as placed
• Leave aquatic and surrounding plants rooted in the ground
• Use only the designated sand access point to enter the water
Parents and site holders, your help is essential. Please speak with your children and any visitors to your site about respecting this space. We understand that curiosity is natural — but the waterfall area and filter pond must remain undisturbed to continue functioning as intended.
We share this because we believe our community deserves to understand why it matters. Highland Pines is something we all take pride in — and we trust that when our guests are informed, they help protect what makes this place special.
