RESORT ADVISORY - BLUE-GREEN ALGAE NOTICE – BELWOOD LAKE

The Grand River Conservation Authority has reported a suspected small blue-green algae bloom near the boat launch at Belwood Lake Conservation Area.

Guests and recreational users should take the following precautions whenever blue-green algae is visible:

• Keep children and pets away from the algae
• Avoid contact with the algae
• Do not swim where scum is visible or accumulating along the shoreline
• Do not drink or otherwise use water from the lake
• Do not eat fish caught in the lake
• Boating is permitted where allowed, but avoid touching the algae or affected water

Blue-green algae may resemble green or bluish-green pea soup or spilled paint along the shoreline. Some varieties can produce toxins harmful to people and pets.

Anyone who develops symptoms after contact should consult a healthcare provider. For concerns involving a pet, please contact a veterinarian.

Pines Fest is almost here!

Join us Saturday, September 5th in Phase 3 for a full day of activities beginning at 9:00 AM. Enjoy the Marketplace, inflatable fun and midway rides, face painting, our car show, co****le tournament and more throughout the day.

Then settle in for an evening of live music with Replica beginning at 6:30 PM, followed by fireworks to cap off the celebration.

Come spend the day with us and celebrate the final long weekend of summer at Highland Pines Resort.

Join us in the Phase 3 Pirate Ship Parking Lot for an afternoon featuring cars, motorcycles and golf carts from throughout the Resort community.
