🌊🪶 Birds That Fish Together, Stay Together? 🪶🌊
Out on the lake, I’ve noticed something interesting — pelicans often follow Asian cormorants around, especially in deeper water. At first, it seemed random… but the more I watched, the more it made sense.
Pelicans don’t dive — they scoop fish from the surface. But cormorants? They’re expert divers, chasing fish underwater and stirring up entire schools. When the cormorants dive, they push fish toward the surface — and the pelicans are right there to take advantage of the action.
It’s a brilliant bit of teamwork (or maybe freeloading 😄). The pelican lets the cormorant do the hard work, then swoops in for an easy meal.
Nature is full of these little partnerships — and the more we watch, the more we learn.
🐟👀 Next time you’re by the water, keep an eye out. You might just catch them in the act.
