Summer dates are now live for The Downtown Table in Chilliwack.

Our host Chris is a teacher-librarian who lives downtown and loves it without apology. On any given Saturday during mural fest you'll find him checking on mural progress, stopping into the vinyl shop to see how his zine sales are going, picking up flowers at Harvest, browsing vintage finds at Old Soul Cafe.

That's the person guiding your afternoon.

The Chilliwack Mural Festival runs June 15 to August 16, with new murals from 11 local and international artists going up across downtown and District 1881. The main street party is August 14 and 15. Our experience drops you right into the middle of it all, with good food, local stories, and someone who actually knows the place.

We start at 11:30. The drive out is part of it. Mountains, farms, the valley opening up. By the time you arrive, you're already somewhere different.

Minimum four guests. Book through the link. Tag someone who needs a reason to finally make the trip.

It's Debbie's birthday today.

She came to us first as a guest, celebrating a friend's birthday in Fort Langley. When we put out a call for hosts shortly after, she was one of the first to say yes.

These days you'll find her hosting in Fort Langley and in Surrey.

With a corporate career behind her and a passport that's seen serious use, Debbie brings Australian roots, a genuine love of food, and the instinct of someone who's navigated a lot of tables in a lot of places.

Guests say a day with her feels effortless. That they found places they'd walked past for years. That she knew when to give them space and when to pull up a chair.

That's the thing about someone who travels the world for the love of it. They know what good hospitality actually feels like.

Happy Birthday, Debbie! So glad you said yes to our Chew On This team!

Good experiences give people space to notice where they are.

Spent the day yesterday exploring Surrey alongside others working in tourism and hospitality, observing how destinations introduce people to place through pacing, story, food, and shared experience.
